The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing all mechanical engineering activities for the rail way projec t’s preconstruction and construction stages . This role involves validating the design provided by the construction contractor s , ensuring compliance with mechanical standards, and providing support during the construction supervision phase. The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with various departments to ensure the successful execution of the project, particularly focusing on the integration of mechanical systems within the rail way infrastructure. Roles and Responsibilities: Validate the mechanical design provided by the construction contractor (design and build contractor) ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards. Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with mechanical requirements. Qualifications and Educational Requirements: Knowledge and Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects. 2-5 years of experience as a Design Engineer, specifically in the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system Project management experience, particularly with mechanical systems and construction-related projects. Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and their integration with systems. In-depth knowledge of mechanical principles, construction contracts, and industry standards. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple mechanical aspects and stakeholders effectively. Knowledge of AutoCAD/BIM will be essential. Experience working on Rail projects/sector is highly desirable. Preferred Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate mechanical risks specific to large-scale infrastructure projects. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team in a high-pressure environment. Experience in managing complex projects, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex mechanical information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in mechanical engineering software and tools, as well as a strong understanding of engineering and construction processes.
