JOB TITLE: SENIOR MANAGER INVESTIGATIONS
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To direct and manage all compliance investigation-related activities carried out across the global organisation, acting as the primary focal point in this regard.Actively manage and support the Petrofac Group Investigations management framework, manage senior business relationships and lead the delivery of investigations across the Group. Support the CCO in managing interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, such as regulators, legal experts, business partners, etc.
- Operate and manage all aspects of the Global Investigations function under the oversight of CCO and provide regular reports to the CCO on the same
- Monitor the Speak-up incidents to actively assess and identify the potential investigations under oversight of CCO.
- Direct, lead and report on complex Investigations across the group (Internal/External) consistent with the Investigation Management System/Framework under oversight of CCO.
- Act as line manager for resources assigned to the Group Investigations Team including hiring of new personnel if/when applicable, and identify and manage the hiring new personnel to develop the investigation management function capability
- Lead the preparation and presentation of Triage Committee every quarter and as and when deemed appropriate.
- Lead the preparation of the presentation/papers for the Compliance and Ethics Committee every quarter in collaboration with CCO.
- Actively support the development, governance and management of Petrofac’s Investigation Management System/Framework.
- Collaborate with other functions, business subject matter experts, Group Legal, HR and Internal Audit as required for delivery of investigations across the Group.
- Manage corporate-wide coaching, development, and training of non-forensic business experts to understand the Petrofac internal control environment and deliver investigation results in line with good practice. Support in creating a network of investigation resources across the business who can assist in investigations.
- Provide guidance and oversight particularly on investigations which are “farmed out” from Speak-up and reviewed by other parts of the Business.
- Support the CCO in Committees of the Board (Compliance & Ethics), ExCom, Triage Committee, etc. for matters relating to Group-wide investigations as required.
- Actively build and maintain strong relationships/partnership with various stakeholders in the Business at all levels to help facilitate successful conduct of Investigations across the Group.
- Live in conformance with the Petrofac Code of Conduct, Standard for the Prevention of Bribery & Corruption and Values with high ethical standards, commitment, and integrity.
- Continuous improvement of Investigation function processes aligned with good practice.
- Act as a Coach & Mentor to the Investigation Team Members in delivery of Investigations work and personal development.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Investigation methodologies, tools and techniques, Internal Audit techniques.
- Versatile and seasoned investigator /auditor.
- Business Knowledge – expertise in E&C, and oil & gas and/or the technical functions that support them, operating in Petrofac key geographies.
- Functional knowledge – expertise in some of the key support functions e.g. Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Tax, Compliance, Company Secretary etc.
- Industry knowledge – knowledge of how Petrofac’s competitors, clients and contractors operate.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of compliance risks
- Knowledge of regulatory and corporate governance requirements under the UK and USA laws relevant to Petrofac Business around the world.
- MBA, Finance, Law, Economics, Data Analysis, MSc)
- Versatile and seasoned investigator
- Professional qualification relevant for role, willingness to attend certification courses in investigation/examination.
- Compliance, Investigating, risk and controls.
- Advanced People Management skills
- Fact based and attention to detail – comfortable operating in a detailed, fact-based environment.
- Experience in working alongside a team of professionals with diverse competencies and experience (e.g.: Accountants, Internal Auditors, Engineers, Lawyers, Investigators etc.)
- Experienced in Leading/conducting interviews and managing difficult challenging/conversations.
- Critical judgement/analytical and interpretation skills and ability to quickly identify and understand complex business problems and identify the required solutions and assess the consequences of rules and regulations to Petrofac businesses.
- Leading Complex Fraud/Compliance Investigations in varied business environments.
- Critical judgement skills and ability to quickly identify and understand complex business problems; identify required solutions and assess the consequences of rules and regulations to Petrofac businesses.
- Sound judgement – ability to identify issues that need further testing and understanding of own limitations/when to consult.

- Excellent commercial acumen, presentation and listening skills.

- Experience leading complex investigations
- Experience in leading an investigation function in a multinational company
- Experience in people/team management.
- Experience of working in-house in a business environment would be an advantage.
- Experience in presentation/reporting of the results from complex Investigations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Experience of working in different geographies and multicultural organisations.
