Job Description
Responsibilities and Areas of Focus:
Lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap development in alignment with client and business needs. Act as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project goals. Prioritise and manage the product backlog, ensuring features and improvements are aligned with overall business objectives. Monitor project progress, facilitating agile ceremonies, and addressing any impediments to ensure timely delivery. Analyse market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscape to continuously improve and innovate product offerings. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance within the team.
Main Tasks:
Technical & Product:
Acquire and maintain a deep understanding of relevant technologies, platforms, and processes to guide product development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical feasibility and high-quality delivery of product features. Implement best practices in product management, including user story creation, acceptance criteria definition, and backlog grooming. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into the product lifecycle.
Business Acumen & Operational Efficiency:
Develop a strong understanding of business objectives, market dynamics, and customer needs to inform product decisions. Implement efficient processes to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and maximise resource utilisation. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions while maintaining high-quality standards. Balance long-term strategic goals with short-term operational needs, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
Innovative & Analytical Mindset:
Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging creative problem-solving and out-of-the-box thinking within the team. Utilise data-driven insights and analytical tools to make informed product decisions and measure success. Conduct thorough analysis of product performance, user feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement strategies for continuous product innovation and differentiation in the market.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred. Proven experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role, preferably in an IT or digital project management environment. Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira or Trello. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and manage the entire product lifecycle. Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex digital products or projects on time and within budget. Experience with user experience design, customer journey mapping, and user testing is a plus.
