JOB PURPOSE
The jobholder is responsible to provide with engineering expertise and knowledge in the field of Risk Based Inspection to ensure that the ongoing control and mitigation programs while participating in investigation and recommendation of cost-effective alternatives, application of new techniques to users.
The jobholder is responsible to provide with engineering expertise and knowledge in the field of Inspection to ensure proper assessment the condition of fields’ equipment and facilities using up to date methods & techniques of non-destructive examination as required by the referencing codes.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Job Specific Accountabilities
Equipment Assessment
- Assure the mechanical integrity of equipment through risk-based inspection (RBI) to optimize inspection frequencies.
- Skill on FFS evaluation and remaining life calculation to ensure accurate assessment of equipment lifespan.
- Specify all necessary scopes and tests on static equipment to provide assurance of safety and reliability in services.
- Coordinate with operations & other functions for special investigation/testing of static equipment, piping and PSV to maintain its integrity.
- Troubleshoot operational problems in corrosion and inspection to recommend corrective actions and modifications.
- Audit ongoing control and mitigation programs by operations departments to recommend cost-effective alternatives and new techniques.
Inspection
- Prepare inspection plan and schedule based on historical data/RBI study to forecast requirements for various inspection activities.
- Provide appropriate testing techniques to identify the actual corrosion/damaged occurred during operation and to ensure the integrity of assets.
- Review engineering drawings and documents to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Coordinate with material analysis and testing during fabrication, maintenance, and overhaul to ensure quality control.
- Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies to ensure specialized inspection jobs are executed.
- Review and update degradation mechanisms that are relevant to equipment operational environment.
Corrosion Practice
- Participate in the development and implementation of corrosion monitoring, control, and mitigation policies to minimize corrosive effects.
- Provide support on work programs related to corrosion to ensure effective corrosion management.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of the Corrosion and Inspection Management System (CIMS) to ensure consistent corrosion control.
- Participate in hazard identification and assessment studies to identify potential corrosion risks.
- Check and verify proposals related to plant/component fitness to ensure plant integrity.
- Classify corrosion loops in the plant to prioritize corrosion management efforts.
Projects’ Support
- Review and advise on corrosion mitigation measures in design and materials specifications to ensure adequate corrosion control.
- Participate in the selection of inspection contractors to ensure high-quality inspection services.
- Advise on the selection of corrosion monitoring devices and coating materials to ensure effective corrosion protection.
- Assist and review of project static equipment and piping RBI implementation including data collection, marking of corrosion loops, setup of IOW etc.
- Review of baseline thickness measurement done by third party.
Troubleshooting & Analysis
- Take appropriate action to identify and resolve corrosion issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Follow up with asset holders to ensure timely implementation of recommendations to maintain plant integrity.
- Maintain installation corrosion monitoring and mitigation policies to ensure consistent corrosion control.
- Provide expert advice during asset improvement projects to solve and prevent problems.
Technical Support
- Provide expert advice during asset improvement projects to solve and prevent problems.
- Participate in the technical approval and deviation control process to support the management of technical change.
- Participate in the setup of design and maintenance strategies to ensure asset integrity.
- Own and translate design specifications into acceptance criteria for safety equipment to ensure compliance and safety.
- Monitor and evaluate industry trends to add value to the business.
- Set up and maintain external networks to share technical solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSMinimum Qualification
- University degree in Related Science or Engineering Disciplines.
- Graduation degree or equivalent technical or science discipline qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgy)
- API certification like API 510/570/ 580 are desirable
