KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to coordinate the planning and execution of production and injection adjustments, ensuring compliance with mandated key performance indicators (KPIs) for oil production, gas, water, and CO2 injection.
- Analyze the operational data in accordance with the intended production targets, current and historical conditions, including laboratory analysis and plant performance. Identify any significant deviations from the specified operating parameters, initiate root cause analysis, implement recommendations/appropriate mitigation measures. Provide technical lead in the evaluation of crude oil , Gas treatment and Water injection units to improve plant’s performance.
- Identifying and resolving chronic operational issues with plant surface facilities and contributing to the analysis of underlying causes for frequent failures of important equipment to maintain production availability.
- Monitor the functioning of equipment, generate analytical reports that include relevant trends to monitor the performance of all the production processes. Identifies and informs operating personnel about irregularities and provides guidance on appropriate corrective steps. Regularly examines and approves the operating procedures and standing instructions of the plant units to ensure safe and cost-effective operation.
- Collaborate with all relevant parties to organize and conduct Field Technical Rate (FTR) and Field Capacity Tests (FCT) in order to identify any irregularities in the production facilities, potential operational issues, and to determine the most effective parameters for efficient and safe operation.
- Lead /participate process safety committee monthly meetings ,generate reports and asset integrity compliance audits of plant and equipment, guaranteeing adherence to all safety requirements and protocols.
- Assume the responsibility as an Area Authority, lead daily IWAP (Integrated Work Activity Planning) , support Maintenance teams through Permit to Work approvals and ensure activities are completed in accordance with the prescribed WMS HSE guidelines, without any deviations.
- As designated On Scene Commander ,Serve as the main source of information, providing a comprehensive overview of all facilities and ongoing activities during emergencies.
- Maintain communication with the TRT and IMT Teams during emergencies. Provide guidance to the TRT Team. Assume the responsibility as Onshore Section Chief in during TL- Ops absence.
- Communicate consistently with Reservoir Development and planning teams to review monthly production plans, monthly RMP programmes, Gas, Water injection targets, FSOPR exercise in accordance with the business plan, execute RMP programme, and implement WAG wells change over etc. activities.
- Collaborates with the Integrated Shutdown Planning Team and other stakeholders to develop Five yearly/Yearly shutdown plan(s) for the facility. Conducts shutdown optimization exercises to ensure efficient execution of the shutdown plan within the approved timeframe.
- Ensures the integrity of the surface and subsurface facility by promptly addressing any anomalies observed by the Well Integrity team through appropriate preventive and remedial actions. Plan and execute the subsurface activities linked to integrity in collaboration with production and well integrity engineers, such as communication testing.
- Ensure that identified Downgrade situation(s) are initiated in DGS management system, DGS is thoroughly analyzed, recommend mitigation and remedial measures by engaging all stakeholders. Ensures timely implementation of all mitigations and remedial measures. Maintains a tracking register of DGSs under the asset., perform cumulative risk assessment. In consultation with Operating Integrity engineers, ensures no overdue DGS cases.
- Collaborate proactively with TC (Technical Center) and P&C (Project and Construction team) throughout all project phases, engages actively and contributes valuable insights in Design Review and 3D model Reviews. Value engineering workshops. various HSE IA studies, including HAZOP/. Hazard Identification (HAZID), and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) review studies etc.
- Participate in RFC walkdowns to offer comments and identify areas for improvement. Preparing and offering the required assistance during the construction, pre commissioning, commissioning processes in accordance with the project execution plan.
- Ensure that all temporary and permanent changes are implemented for operational excellence using the EMOC process, according to its designated timeframe and obtaining the necessary approvals and execution plans. Overseeing the implementation of the Management of Change (MOC) process by ensuring the completion of Engineering review, Scope of Work (SoW), and securing the budget.
- Generate customized reports as necessary, documenting any process deviations and irregularities, while emphasizing suggestions for enhancing safety, energy efficiency, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
- Analyze and oversee the allocation of operation personnel to guarantee optimal availability for the continuity of business operations and work execution.
- Monitor and oversee the implementation of facility integrity programs in accordance with the Company's Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS).
- Analyze the strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in operators' skills and knowledge, and create a comprehensive training program to ensure safe and responsible operation of facilities.
- Efficiently monitoring and promptly resolving audit findings, action items, and suggestions. Engage in risk assessment, perform on-site inspections, and oversee 30 Critical/High risk Work Activities.
- Annually reviewing the business continuity plan as a member of the business continuity committee, in collaboration with other stakeholders, to guarantee the uninterrupted functioning of asset activities.
- Coach, Mentor , assess and develop young UAE national Engineers and Operators .Offer the essential training and facilitate the exchange of knowledge for the YDPs, while guiding them in undertaking crucial and technical tasks that are relevant to their respective discipline.
- Develop new and/or deliver existing technical courses for engineers/Operators from operating facilities.
- Engage in the evaluation of the ERM Risk Register, which involves attending meetings and providing feedback on the register.
- Facilitate various Technology trials, monitor/gather operational and equipment data participate in trial evaluation processes, prepare essential review reports, offer/ recommend suggestions to improve from operational point of view. Support the Facility Integrity Team in executing new chemical performance trials, flow lines with RTP etc. and ensure that the recommendations of these trials are implemented.
- Participate, provide and recommend program enhancement suggestions during the framing process of yearly Asset Operating Integrity plans, Process Safety assurance program,Well integrity management program etc.
- Prepare budget/Finance proposals as part of 5 year business plan, secure the funds and ensure funds are utilized as planned and with no under/over utilization.
- Participate in implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices by optimizing processes to minimize environmental impact and ensuring compliance with regulations, while also promoting safety measures and community engagement initiatives within their operations. Work to enhance sustainability, reduce emissions, and integrate social responsibility into projects, aligning with the industry's evolving ESG standards.
- Provide technical support for asset maintenance disciplines. Troubleshoot major plant upsets and/or chronic operational problems and to identify improvement opportunities, potential problems, and remedies to existing problems.
- Support, develop plans and road maps for reviewing and incorporating new technologies including preliminary economics.
- Provide operational experience and support simulations studies and utilize process models for new and existing facilities to conduct production capacity assessment and identify plant’s bottlenecks.
- Participate, assist and prepare preliminary scope of work (including process schematic and equipment list) to debottleneck existing facilities or design new facilities.
- Participate and Coordinate the execution of capacity increase studies with operating facilities and detailed engineering design contractor and / or Vendors. This would involve setting the design basis and scope of work as require to ensure study is sufficiently comprehensive to satisfy objective.
- Support process design and engineering activities for new projects in conceptual, pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Engineering phases.
- Present technical papers in major international conferences and issue papers in reputable oil and gas journals.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 8 years of experience, including at least 4 years in oil & gas industry
