Job Description
Job Purpose: The jobholder is responsible for providing engineering theories and expertise to support the Polypropylene Plant (PP) operations teams, assets, processes, and products to run safely and achieve planned targets. This includes monitoring plant operations, reviewing and analyzing asset performance, providing support to the plant, and critically reviewing plant processes while enriching the HSE culture within the plant and teams.

Key Accountabilities:
Operations Control:
- Coordinate daily plant operations to produce targeted quantities with the right quality, considering cost aspects.
- Review operating data, highlight deviations, and ensure suitable actions are taken.
- Develop Integrity Operating Window for critical equipment and systems.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and optimal operability of the plant and its systems.
- Write daily instructions and guidelines for shifts, highlight abnormalities, and recommend corrective actions.
Asset Performance:
- Monitor equipment and systems performance, identify potential problems, and submit recommendations.
- Participate in reliability improvement programs and collaborate with maintenance personnel.
- Follow up on system modifications and development to maintain and improve safety, efficiency, and flexibility.
- Participate in incident/accident investigations and provide recommendations.
- Assist in preparing regular and ad-hoc plant reports and analyses.
Process Monitoring:
- Provide advice and guidance to operations staff to solve operating problems and optimize conditions.
- Act as a focal point for advanced process control systems and ensure their functionality.
- Contribute to reviewing, improving, and optimizing plant operations.
- Participate in task forces to study and resolve chronic problems.
Emergency Readiness:
- Review and update start-up, shutdown, emergency, and other operating procedures.
- Prepare reports for abnormalities and alarm management systems.
- Contribute to establishing and operating appropriate plant procedures to ensure safe, hazard-free working conditions.
- Review and monitor operating conditions to ensure compliance with safety critical procedures.
Plant Support:
- Align and harmonize operations and procedures between asset plants.
- Coordinate data collection for new projects, audits, and surveys.
- Review and develop operating procedures for existing plants and new modifications.
- Organize and participate in daily, weekly, and monthly asset coordination meetings.
HSE Culture:
- Provide professional advice and support to operations staff to ensure reliability and high efficiency.
- Resolve noncompliance to process safety elements and integrity compliance KPIs.
- Participate in various studies like Hazop, SIL, Risk assessment, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Contribute to HSE Committee meetings and plant safety observation tours.

- Stay knowledgeable about HSE, Sustainability, Energy Management, Ethics & Regulations, and Quality Management.
- Participate in the design and establishment of an Integrated Risk Management Framework.
- Ensure corporate business ethics and the Company’s Code of Conduct are communicated to employees.
Departmental Plans:
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate activities to meet functional objectives.
- Provide input for budget preparation and assist in implementing approved budgets and work plans.
- Contribute to achieving performance objectives and KPIs.
- Review and recommend reports on work activities, projects, and processes.
Processes & Systems:
- Implement approved policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures.
- Perform analysis to ensure timely availability of data analysis.
- Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices.
Communications & Working Relationships:
- Maintain internal communication with various departments like Shift Supervisors, Plant Operations, Quality Control, and more.
- Maintain external communication with ADNOC Group Companies, Technology Licensors, Vendors, and Suppliers.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- University degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant Engineering Discipline.
- Fluency in English.
- 5-8 years of experience in Petrochemicals and 3-6 years in Plant Operations.
- Completed the Engineer Development Program (CAMS).
- Thorough understanding of Borouge products and classifications.
- Analytical thinking, self-motivated, good communication and coordination skills, and working knowledge of Microsoft applications.

- Knowledge in Petrochemical Processes, Plant Operations, Asset Performance, Production Control, Production Planning, HSE, Process Safety, and Projects & Engineering.
