Job Description


Job Purpose:


To provide guidance and direction to the electrical engineers in the provision of a dedicated & efficient maintenance support services to Fields, as well as the maintenance and troubleshooting support for the generators, transformers, motors, HV and LV Switchgear electrical distribution network, protection system, DC systems /chargers and  other  control and monitoring system. Provide high level maintenance technical support and coordinates on technical issues to front line maintenance and with relevant support functions in the office. Provides input, relevant to discipline, to reflect operational feedback into new projects and development.


Key Accountabilities:


Job Specific Accountabilities


  • Directs, coordinate, monitors and controls maintenance support provided to frontline maintenance teams. Coordinates the activities assigned to Electrical Engineers / Supervisors within maintenance support team to ensure smooth and safe operation.
  • Co-ordination with and advises operations personnel on all matters relating to electrical maintenance. Assists in solving problems and unforeseen operational difficulties. 
  • Plans work and determines the priorities in consultation with front line teams. Ensures that the activities comply with company’s safety and environmental protection policy, codes, standards, procedures and regulations.
  • Leads technical analysis, problem investigation, equipment/plant testing and follow up on performance and recording systems
  • Provides technical feedback / lesson learned to Technical Support Team / Central Engineering and execution to ensure operational experience is captured to Brown field and new projects.
  • Acts as coordinator for all plant modifications and maintenance works and as such prepares and reviews all related engineering packages and originates necessary purchase requisition.
  • Reviews and studies, engineering packages issued by Engineering Division and recommend practical, efficient, and cost-effective methods of repair and modification practices. Evaluates contractors’/suppliers’ bids and offers and assesses performance.
  • Ensures availability of all required materials / spares for major overhauls, and plant modifications on site on due dates. 
  • Provides support to maintain critical spares for electrical equipment and coordinate VAPs initiation if required. 
  • In coordination with concerned Services, initiates regular safety surveys and inspections and ensures corrective actions are taken to bring electrical equipment to required standards. 
  • Ensures that adequate quality control checks are being taken throughout the work processes to achieve the longterm electrical equipment availability and facility integrity
  • Participate for development of long-term plans and strategies through performance evaluations for the obsolete equipment to ensure high reliability and availability of the plant and meet the plant Integrity requirements. 
  • Provide inputs to life cycle assessment of electrical equipment and participate in preparation of Asset Replacement Plans.
  • Analyses various jobs and recommends long-term service agreement. Manages service contracts and / or other type of contracts.
  • Plans, secures, and manages the budget for normal jobs and schemes. 
  • Provides technical support to front line on electrical equipment with respect to maintenance strategy, improvement, standardization technique etc. Generates necessary management reports.
  • Participates in asset meetings and site visits as necessary.
  • Carries out other similar or related duties such as reviewing and assisting in developing plant start up and commissioning procedures for minor projects, participating in HAZOP / E-HAZOP studies for proposed plant modifications with representatives from operations, maintenance, safety, and inspection.

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets


  • Provide input for preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives. 
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control

 Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures


  • Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management


  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement


  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability


  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports


        ·     Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.


COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:


Internal


  • Frequently with Manager, Team Leaders, Engineers / Supervisors within Operation Support and Front Line Maintenance. 
  • Regular contracts with TLs and team members in other departments / divisions’ viz. Assets, Integrity Logistics Safety, Commercial etc., to discuss maintenance / modification specification / standards, material requirements etc.

 External


  • Regular contacts with contractors / service providers to discuss work requirements, evaluates performance etc.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills: 


Minimum Qualification


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline.

 Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills


  • 8 - 9 years diversified experience in oilfields, with a strong background in Electrical Engineering relating to Electrical systems in Oil & Gas Industry and Maintenance Engineering and minimum 2 years’ experience at senior supervisory level.
  • Proficient in English.
