JOB TITLE: Senior-Engineer Commissioning Telecom
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning and Integration: Lead the commissioning and integration of telecom systems within offshore wind substations, including communication networks, SCADA systems, remote monitoring equipment, and data acquisition systems.
- Testing and Verification: Conduct comprehensive testing and verification of telecom equipment and systems to ensure functionality, performance, and compliance with specifications in the challenging offshore environment. Below is the list of systems:
- CCTV
- PAGA
- Networking (LAN/WAN)
- Radio System (DMR Radio, VHF marine)
- DACS
- VoIP
- OOB
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues during the commissioning process, implementing corrective actions to address deviations or discrepancies and ensuring minimal downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of commissioning activities, test results, configurations, and as-built drawings, adhering to industry standards and project requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality assurance measures to uphold the highest standards of reliability, performance, and safety in telecom systems within the offshore wind substation environment.
- Coaching: As a telecom SME, Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians involved in commissioning activities, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of telecom technologies and standards, including fiber optic networks, wireless communication systems, SCADA, and data acquisition systems.
- Experience working in offshore environments and familiarity with the challenges and safety requirements associated with offshore operations.
- Proficiency in equipment configuration, testing tools, and diagnostic techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in remote locations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in leading commissioning teams on large-scale offshore projects.
