Job Description


AESG is seeking a passionate and driven Senior Energy Modeler for a 3 month contract. Immediate availability. 


The role will include energy modelling using IESVE software to create detailed energy models of buildings, including their architectural, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and lighting systems. This involves inputting building data, materials, and system specifications. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating technical engineering solutions and a willingness to work across multiple large-scale projects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Analyze the energy efficiency of buildings and identify areas for improvement. Evaluate the impact of various design choices and technologies on energy consumption and sustainability goals.
  • Optimize HVAC system designs and configurations to balance occupant comfort with energy efficiency, including assessing heating and cooling loads, airflow, and thermal comfort.
  • Assist in QA/QC of the work done by Junior Consultants.
  • Independently carrying out project tasks.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing analysis results, recommendations, and insights for clients, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement energy-efficient design solutions and ensure that design changes align with project goals.

Must have/be:


  • Degree or Masters Degree in Mechanical / Energy / Architectural Engineering 
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in energy modelling within the sustainability sector of the built environment is required. Having some background in HVAC design is advantageous.
  • Experience with energy modelling for various Sustainability Rating Systems such as USGBC LEED, Mostadam, Estidama etc.
  • Expert in IESVE software. 
  • Analytical skills and ability to independently carry out project sub-tasks.
  • Ability to guide and lead more junior team members and provide line management.
  • Ability to successfully manage client and develop client relationships.
