Role Scope:
As a Senior Director of Government Relations at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the company's government relations strategy in the META region. You will be accountable for building and maintaining relationships with government officials, industry associations, and other stakeholders to advocate for Honeywell's interests. You will monitor legislative and regulatory developments, analyze their impact on the company, and develop strategies to create opportunities and mitigate risks.
You will report directly to our Senior Vice President Global Government Relations who is based in Washington DC and matrix to the Regional President based in Dubai.  You will work out of our [Abudhabi-Dubai] location on an on-site work schedule.
In this role, you will impact Honeywell's ability to navigate the complex landscape of government policies and regulations. By building and maintaining relationships with government officials, this role will influence the development of policies that align with Honeywell's business objectives. Overall, the Senior Director of Government Relations for META will have a direct impact on Honeywell's reputation, business opportunities, and ability to drive sustainable growth.
Success within the Government Relations function is measured by priority Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) developed each year in coordination with our Strategic Business Units, High Growth Region leadership and Honeywell’s CEO.  These KPIs are updated quarterly, and results are reported to Honeywell’s senior leadership.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead a team of professionals in region who deliver on priority country outcomes. Current GR professionals located in KSA and Turkey. Additional roles may get added as the demands warrant.
  • Guide the development and advancement of legislative and regulatory proposals that will drive business growth particularly in the key megatrends of automation, the future of aerospace and the energy transition.
  • Identify, analyze, and report to the company on business, legislative, and regulatory issues that could potentially impact the business and recommend and manage an effective course of action.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with government decision makers, regulators, civil servants, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and oversee the production of high-quality written materials, briefings, presentations, and other collateral that communicate complex messages clearly and effectively to audiences, with a focus on government stakeholders.
  • Coordinate strategy with consultants and trade association representatives to ensure alignment with areas aligned to Honeywell’s interests.
  • Organize and drive communication with Honeywell senior leaders, including meetings, briefings, and reviews.
  • Participate, serve, and assume positions on industry-related associations, steering committees, and networking organizations to protect & promote the company's interests.

Key Skills & Qualifications:


  • 18+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English. Other languages are a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of META governments, how they function, how to engage and influence policy outcomes.
  • Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • People management experience.
