About the job Senior Design Manager
Senior Design Manager will be responsible for the following functions:
- Managing design quality, budget alignment & program adherence simultaneously.
- Managing design consultants daily, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and best practice standards.
- Managing and coordinating the overall design and development process in coordination with the clients wider project and delivery team.
- Coordinating with the clients procurement team in the preparation and execution of consultant bidders lists, RFPs, and technical evaluations.
- Ensuring consultant submissions are complete and comply with the deliverable lists identified in the consultants contract.
- Facilitating expedient consultant invoicing & stage payments.
- Preparing and presenting stage-gate presentations to the clients management.
- Managing material submission and approvals.
General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate design consultant work, edit contracts if needed, and review payments.
- Supervise and coordinate design changes and revisions of design and construction drawings.
- Assess shop drawings for correctness and alignment with approved plans and design intent.
- Organize and contribute to designing and developing design and construction delivery strategies.
- Maintain records and prepare reports and presentations on design and development projects.
- Provide design feedback and recommendations to align with approved direction and design intent.
- Oversee site inspections to check development project progress and to confirm compliance with regulations and specifications.
- Keep up to date with the latest designs and solutions by reading the latest journals and exploring new trends.

- Review development plans, permit application documents, environmental impact statements, and reclamation plans.
- Prepare and review design briefs and scopes of work for input to design consultant procurement in coordination and support of the consultant procurement process.
- Manage and monitor stage gate submittal process and deliverables against tracking schedule, review consultants dashboards and schedules and coorhigh-levelh level issues log against committed scopes and deliverables.
- Ensure all designs maintain a high level of quality and keep pace with project programs and timescales.
- Monitor and mitigate development costs and risks throughout the design and delivery process.
- Lead and coordinate with all internal and external stakeholders during the full design and development process through to delivery.
- Communicate design strategy and direction to ensure understanding of strategy, priorities, and impact on the wider delivery process.
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams of designers and engineers through all design, production, and delivery stages.
- Coordinate with project design and delivery teams to ensure e brand is consistent with the cross full customer journey.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all design-related items throughout the development and delivery process.
- Compile and provide reporting on the design and implementation status for all projects while in progress and up to completion.
- Coordinate with the delivery team during the construction phase.
- Provide support and guidance to team members.
Suitable candidates must possess:
Masters or Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Urban
Planning, or related fields;
Master's degree or MBA with a specialization in architecture, interior design, or related field is
highly desirable;
12-15 years of experience in real estate design & development, with roles managing large projects.
Proven track record of previous GCC or UAE experience is essential
