About the Opportunity

The Compliance Manager role offers a unique and exciting opportunity to influence regulatory adherence in a rapidly evolving industry. In this position, you will lead compliance initiatives by developing and implementing frameworks that align with local and international regulations, ensuring the company operates within legal boundaries while fostering innovation. You will have the chance to influence industry standards by collaborating with regulatory bodies and industry groups, helping to shape the future of compliance in the cryptocurrency sector. Additionally, you will engage with cutting-edge technology in a dynamic environment, allowing for continuous learning and adaptation. This role is crucial for driving organizational integrity and promoting a culture of compliance and ethical conduct, ensuring that all employees understand their responsibilities in upholding regulatory standards.







 
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Ensure that the company adheres to all applicable laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and data protection.
  • Assist CO/MLRO in proactively identifying potential control gaps with local requirements, implementing viable solutions in collaboration with local and central teams as needed.
  • Reviewing suspicious activities and transaction monitoring patterns and typologies to make relevant determinations, including the preparation and submission of SARs to relevant FIUs, ensuring compliance with regulatory timelines and requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures that reflect industry best practices and regulatory expectations.
  • Track key local compliance incidents and issues, report them and coordinate with compliance team to implement appropriate local controls in response to identified and foreseeable risks in all regulated markets.
  • Lead training initiatives to educate employees on compliance policies and procedures, promoting a culture of awareness and ethical behavior across the organization.
  • Work closely with legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance and risk management.
  • Investigate compliance incidents or breaches, managing the response process and implementing measures to mitigate future risks.
  • Proactively identify potential control gaps, provide leadership in resolving conflicts between local and central team policies, risk tolerance, or general approaches.
  • Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.

What We Look For In You 
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, law, business administration, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, CCEP) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in compliance management, with a minimum of 8 years in a senior compliance role, including previous experience as an MLRO/ Deputy MLRO
  • Proven experience in dealing with regulators and auditors on AML audit and/or investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of AML, CTF, and data protection regulations, with a demonstrated ability to raise SARs to FIUs effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the capacity to interpret complex regulations and apply them effectively within the organization.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong project management and remediation experience.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the crypto-industry, as well as the relevant risks;
