Job Description
Day to Day Operations:
Yard infrastructure planning and project management.
Manage the implementation of the company infrastructure masterplan.
Prepare periodic report and dashboard highlighting the infrastructure development progress in terms of compliance to the specifications, budget and timeline.
Proactively prevent and / or resolve challenges to meet project’s standard, budget and timeline.
Advise production and new build on the safe usage of berth and piers as per available as-built drawings and documentation.
Provide advice on the civil interface for potential New Build projects / Ship repair / Rig repair tenders.
Handle the drawing section and archived drawings and design documents of the yard.
Provide assistance to new build and Repair projects during actual execution at site.
Intermittently handles the daily department duties whenever department manager is on leave.
Quality Control of construction works; supervise Surveyor and Works Inspector.
Maintain the archive records of the whole yard both drawings and civil design documents.
Prepare cost estimates for project proposals to aid for Capex approval.
Facilitate the daily department duties (in the absence of department manager).
Conduct structural design and checks and development of civil drawings to support construction and maintenance activities of the yard.
The position made proposals for some suggested yard developments and major refurbishment of existing reinforced concrete structures.
Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labour to determine project feasibility.
Ensure projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.
Maintain and handle the drawing section of the yard including the archived design documents.
Advise the production on the safe use of the berth/piers and higher management on yard development proposals base on end-user’s requirements.
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Perform other related duties or assignments as directed on order to contribute to the continuous operations of the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Project Management
10+ years relevant experience as a Civil Engineer in manjor infrastructure projects.
Excellent project management skills.
Proficiency in engineering principles, design software (like AutoCAD), and construction methods.
Ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects from conception to completion, including budgeting and scheduling.
Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and standards related to construction and infrastructure.
Knowledge of sustainable design practices and materials, and the ability to incorporate them into projects.
Strong background with resolution of technical issues during projects planning and execution phases.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with departmental / project objectives.
Fully trained and knowledgeable with relevant Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
