Provides Petroleum Chemistry consultancy services in the areas of Reservoir development, Petroleum Engineering, Flow assurance, Production and Drilling Chemistry issues.
• Provides high quality technical advice and solutions on all Petroleum Chemistry issues as part of the integrated asset and/ or ad hoc project teams.
• Carries out studies and provides operations support in all aspects of Petroleum Chemistry and flow assurance (e.g. scale, wax, asphaltenes, chemical inhibition, phase separation, water treatment, tracer injection etc.).
• Provides Petroleum Chemistry input to Field Development Plans.
• Liaises with Company laboratories and external consultants/ laboratories on planning and interpretation of sampling and analysis exercises related to Petroleum Chemistry studies.
• Provides technical support on stimulation recipes and well bore cleaning treatments.
• Liaises with Drilling and Cement Team in the Drilling on specific Petroleum Chemistry issues related to drilling mud, completion brines and cement.
• Attends field trials by Field Operations in the whenever on site specialist advice is needed.
• Maintains contacts with chemical vendors on technical issues related to chemical treatments in the asset field.
• Liaises with corrosion engineering on material selection of wells and surface facilities and participates in studies as required.
Supervision
• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
Budgets
• Provide input for preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
• Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
• Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Reports
• Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
Contact with line Manager/ peers and other employees within the company/Group as required
Contact with external parties including consultants, third party service providers, and government agencies as required
Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
8 years industry experience, including at least 6 years as Petroleum Chemist.
