Job Summary:
The Senior Business Process Engineer role is responsible for process design, re-engineering for optimization and the associated KPIs. This role will work with process owners and cross-functional teams to prepare the organization for implementation of those processes and/or changes. The Senior Business Process Engineer will drive the organization to form best practices and continuous improvement.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Process Creation, Improvement and Optimization
- Analyse, design, and implement business processes to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional process improvement projects to align with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, proposing solutions backed by data-driven analysis.
Operational Excellence
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including workflows, procedures, and controls.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of business processes.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements within the health insurance industry.
Change Management
- Drive organizational change management efforts to support the implementation of new processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption and integration of process improvements.
- Facilitate workshops and training (material and sessions) to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Conduct root cause analysis and data analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
- Work with Data and Analytics team(s) to capture operational data and reporting requirements
- Prepare detailed reports and dashboards to communicate findings and track progress.
Team Leadership and Mentorship
- Mentor and coach team members on process improvement methodologies.
- Provide thought leadership and expertise on BPM best practices.
Experience/Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Healthcare Management, or related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (mandatory).
- Certifications in Business Process Management (e.g., BPMN, CBPP) are highly desirable.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in business process engineering, preferably within the health insurance or healthcare sector.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale process improvement projects.
- Strong knowledge of BPM tools (IBM Blue Works preferred).
- Expertise in process mapping, workflow design, and automation.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or Tableau).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Solid understanding of health insurance operations, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while focusing on detailed process improvements.
- Experience and/or knowledge in Agile methodologies.
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Fluent in English is must, Arabic a plus.
- Collaborative team player with a customer-centric mindset.
