About the job SENIOR ARCHITECT
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the job of a Senior BIM Architect is to lead and oversee the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology in the design, coordination, and execution of architectural projects. This role ensures that digital models of buildings and structures are accurately created, managed, and maintained throughout the project's lifecycle.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development and management of BIM models for architectural projects, ensuring high levels of accuracy, quality, and adherence to project standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers, to ensure the integration of all design components into a cohesive BIM model.
- Manage and coordinate BIM workflows across various design phases, from concept to detailed design and construction documentation.
- Provide guidance and technical leadership in BIM-related processes, tools, and methodologies (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and project-specific BIM execution plans (BEP).
- Perform clash detection, model validation, and troubleshooting of complex issues within the BIM models.
- Oversee the creation of architectural drawings, schedules, and details directly from the BIM models.
- Lead BIM coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders (contractors, consultants, etc.).
- Train and mentor junior architects and BIM modelers, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in BIM practices.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of BIM technologies and industry trends, recommending upgrades and improvements to current workflows.
- Assist with the integration of new technologies, tools, and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness in architectural design.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in architectural design and BIM modeling, with a strong portfolio of complex projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM-related software.
- Solid understanding of architectural design principles and construction documentation.
- Experience in managing large-scale BIM projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of international BIM standards and protocols (e.g., ISO 19650).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Experience in clash detection, model coordination, and resolving BIM issues.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and lead a team.
