About the job Senior Accountant- VAT & Tax
Our client is a prominent player in Retail, manufacturing & hospitality industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality products/services to our clients. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant specializing expertise in VAT and corporate tax to join their dynamic finance team.
Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our VAT and corporate tax processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This position requires a thorough understanding of tax legislation applicable to the retail and manufacturing sectors, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
VAT Management:
- Prepare and review VAT returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Monitor VAT compliance and provide guidance on VAT-related issues.
- Conduct VAT audits and manage relationships with tax authorities.
Corporate Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and review corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with local and international tax laws.
- Assist in tax planning and strategy development to optimize tax positions.
- Analyse financial statements and ensure accurate tax provisions.
Financial Reporting:
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting related to VAT and corporate tax.
- Prepare tax provision calculations and related disclosures for financial statements.
- Provide support for audits, both internal and external, related to tax matters.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to address tax-related issues and opportunities.
- Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff on VAT and corporate tax matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Masters degree or CPA is preferred. Professional Accountant Degree.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on VAT and corporate tax, preferably in retail and manufacturing sectors.
- Strong knowledge of local and international tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office; experience with oracle (ERP systems is a plus).
