Job Description

JOB PURPOSE



The Section Head - Content Planning is responsible for the development of content across social media, websites and news media in line with the Communications Plans set by the Comms and Media Relations team.He/she is responsible for the creation of social media content, website content and press releases to support the GDMO strategic vision and alignment to communicating and promoting the Dubai Key Messages, a matrix of communication messages aligned with the Dubai Vision. He/she is additionally responsible for supporting the Strategic Relations Director with Crisis Communications content, including statements and fact sheets, in case of crisis situations. The Section Head - Content Planning is also responsible for the development of the Content Planning team, in both technical and soft skills, using on-the-job training as well as in-person or online classroom training. The role holder is expected to demonstrate leadership skills, financial and budget management acumen and carry out his/her duties in accordance with the relevant business policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities



General Responsibilities


·Manage the implementation of the strategic vision for Content Planning, to achieve the strategic objectives set out for the department in line with the overall GDMO strategic vision.


·Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Directors across GDMO, working together when needed to support and deliver the GDMO strategy.


·Drive collaboration between Content Planning and Comms and Media Relations, to drive content and campaign planning, development and execution in line with the Communications Plans.


·Manage the Content Planning team in their day-to-day and project work, providing technical skills support and direction to ensure smooth and successful delivery of results and strategic projects/initiatives in line with the GDMO strategic vision.


·Produce monthly KPI reports, providing supporting documents used to capture and calculate the KPI metrics.


·Develop talent within the Content Planning team through on-the-job training and other training (online and classroom), covering both technical and soft skills.



Content Planning


·Ensure the planning of communications content for B2B accounts in line with the Communications Plans and the Dubai Key Messages, across social media, website and news.


·Ensure the planning of communications content for GDMO content, in line with the Dubai Key Messages, leveraging B2B, Brand Dubai and DPC activities/communications across social media, website and news.


·Ensure the planning of communications content for DPC in line with the Dubai Key Messages, events, membership and conferences/meetings etc across social media, website and news.


·Ensure the planning of communications content for Brand Dubai in line with the Dubai Key Messages and initiatives/projects, across social media, website and news.


·Ensure the development of social media content in Arabic and English, in line with Communications Plans and in accordance with GDMO brand guidelines, across GDMO content, B2B content, DPC content and Brand Dubai content.


·Ensure the development of website content in Arabic and English, for GDMO, DPC and Brand Dubai websites.


·Ensure websites and social media accounts remain updated with content as per the content calendar and the Communications Plans.



News/Editorial Content


·Oversee the development of press releases (media entities and internal websites) for GDMO, B2B, DPC and Brand Dubai news content in both Arabic and English, ensuring content is linked to Dubai Key Messages.


·Ensure the availability of photos and videos for news content, to be shared with media entities to disseminate B2B, GDMO, Brand Dubai and DPC content in line with the Dubai Key Messages and Communications Plans.



Crisis Communications


·Ensure timely development and creation of Crisis Communications content, including initial and on-going statements across social media and news channels (TV and print), as applicable.


·Oversee the development of the fact sheet for the crisis, in line with the Crisis Communications process.



Paid Campaigns for B2B Accounts


·Oversee the sourcing, selection and contracting of media providers for paid media campaigns in line with B2B Communications Plans.


·Ensure the development and execution of paid marketing campaigns/programs in line with B2B Communications Plans.



Job Specifications



Key Interactions & Nature of Interaction


Internal:


·       Collaborate with other Directors to achieve the shared GDMO objectives of promoting and protecting Dubai and its Leadership.


·       Collaborate with Media Analytics Center to align communications activities (social media, editorial, website and activations) with the Dubai Key Messages.


·       Collaborate with the Comms and Media Relations Manager to ensure the execution of Communications Plans through the development of content in line with the Communications Plans.


·       Collaborate with Strategy & Excellence to work on strategic projects and initiatives, ensure process excellence and adhere to KPI achievement and reporting.


·       Collaborate with Corporate Support for procurement, finance and human resources needs across projects, partnerships and collaborations, and internal employee needs.


External:


·       Collaborate with media platforms/entities for paid media campaigns



Technical Skills


·       Expert: Knowledge of media communications and the press industry


·       Expert: Knowledge of social media and digital communications

·       Proficient: Knowledge of existing regulatory laws and procedures within UAE

Experience Required



·     A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with at least 4 - 5 years in a similar role



·     A minimum of 5 years leading and managing teams


·     A minimum of 3 years managing a budget



Education and Qualification Required



·     Master’s degree in Journalism, Communication, or Marketing
