About the job SCRUM MASTER - MANUFACTURING
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Scrum Master with a strong background in the manufacturing domain to guide and support agile teams in implementing and optimizing agile methodologies. This role will be responsible for facilitating agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and fostering a collaborative environment to maximize team performance. The ideal candidate has experience bridging agile practices with the structured processes often found in manufacturing environments, helping cross-functional teams deliver high-quality products on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Agile Facilitation & Coaching
- Lead agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coach team members on agile principles and best practices, ensuring agile values are at the core of team activities.
- Encourage the team to become self-organizing and take ownership of their work.
- Manufacturing Domain Knowledge
- Apply knowledge of the manufacturing industry to understand project needs, timelines, and challenges unique to production, supply chain, and operations.
- Work closely with product owners, stakeholders, and team members to adapt agile practices to manufacturing processes.
- Translate business requirements into actionable tasks that align with manufacturing constraints and industry standards.
- Impediment Removal & Process Improvement
- Proactively identify and resolve impediments to team productivity and progress.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the team to reflect on successes and areas of improvement.
- Use Lean and Six Sigma principles, when appropriate, to optimize workflow and increase efficiency in manufacturing environments.
- Stakeholder Communication & Alignment
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, production, and supply chain to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical team members, ensuring a shared understanding of project goals and timelines.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and metrics to stakeholders and leadership.
- Metrics & Reporting
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as velocity, sprint burndown, and cycle time, adjusting processes as necessary to meet production goals.
- Maintain visibility of project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that manufacturing projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Use metrics to identify trends, evaluate team performance, and drive informed decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A background in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or supply chain management is preferred.
- Experience:
- 10+ years experience with 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master.
- Strong background in manufacturing, supply chain, or related domains.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing agile methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
- Certifications:
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or equivalent certification required.
- SAFe, PMI-ACP, or Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and agile values.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, lean production, and value-stream mapping.
- Proficient in using agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps).
- Ability to adapt and align agile practices to suit manufacturing cycles and timelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in highly regulated manufacturing environments, such as automotive, aerospace, or medical devices.
- Knowledge of production planning, ERP systems, and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, etc.).
