SCM Strategic Buyer
SCM Strategic Buyer You as a SCM Strategic Buyer will be part of Hitachi Energy based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As the Strategic Buyer for Hitachi Energy Grid Integration – Project Business Unit you will directly report to the Local SCM Manager and functionally to Project SCM.
You will be responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance and compliance of Supply Chain Management (SCM) Council approved activities in your activities of competence. Execute assigned activities based on the standard procedures. Purchase materials according to required technical specification, price, delivery schedule and terms. Ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.
Your responsibilities:
Procurement: Designs and implements plans for local sourcing to reach the business targets. Supports regional and global sourcing initiatives as required Supplier identification: Supports PSCM/category managers with local requirement when needed, identifies new suppliers in cooperation with relevant category team. Qualifies new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists. Negotiations: Negotiates agreements with main suppliers for non-managed categories, and periodically renews pricelists, terms and conditions. Contracts: Adapts corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Recommends frame agreements to management and executes upon approval. Sales support: Supports bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information when required by PSCM. Supplier performance: For assigned scope, oversees supplier performance (on time delivery, quality, lead time), and resolves performance issues. Customer alignment: Aligns supplier orders in his/her scope with customer requirements (based on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/project requirements) in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price. Process alignment: Conducts all Supply Chain activities for all goods and services in scope, in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensures Pro-Supply global supplier relationship management platform is kept updated as defined in Pro-Supply procedure. Excellence: Applies and implements SCM standards, tools and processes in the area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost and sustainability. Reporting: Creates and updates reports, as required, following the ABB standards. Change management: Executes and implements new directions within the area of responsibility. Compliance: Applies standards on health, safety, environment and business ethics within operational work, contract management and negotiations. Communication: Executes effective and transparent communication internally, externally and between different units and centers. Your background
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Proficiency in both spoken & written English.
