Role & Responsibilities
·To serve as the chief administrator in developing and implementing policies, programmers, curriculum activities and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member.
·As an ambassador and the senior leader and administrator for the school, the Principal is seen by staff, parents, students and the wider community to lead the school to achieve the mission, vision and values of the school.
·The Principal will be knowledgeable of, and sensitive to, the wide range of issues affecting the school and its wider community and to show a very high level of independence, autonomy and sound judgment consistent with this position.
Specific Professional Responsibilities (Whole School)
·Conceptualizes the broad goals of the school and plans accordingly to ensure that systems and processes are implemented effectively to carry out the total school program.
·Ensures that the school’s values, vision, mission, and core goals are fully planned for in the 5-year Strategic Plan and implemented through the School Development Plan.
·Ensures that the school programme is compatible with the legal, financial, and organizational structure of the school system, ADEKs policies and regulations and the UAE laws.
·Defines the responsibilities and accountability of staff members and develops plans for interpreting the school programme to the community.
·Ensures that the timetable and roles and responsibilities of the staff are distributed fairly and equitably in order to ensure effective teaching and learning.
·Provides activities which facilitate the professional growth of the school staff and enhance the quality of the instructional programme.
·Provides opportunities for staff participation in the school programme through the regular meetings of the middle and senior leadership teams.
·Evaluates student attainment and progress data against national and international benchmarks.
·Appraises the performance of the reporting staff and approves the performance appraisals of other school staff.
·Maintains inter-school system communication and seeks assistance from partners and other agencies to improve performance; the principal maintains good relationships with students, staff, and parents.
·Ensures that induction is provided to new staff and students, which addresses the key policies, practices and expectations of the school.
·Encourages the use of community resources, cooperates with the community in the use of school facilities, interprets the school program for the community, and maintains communication with community members.
·Manages, directs, and maintains records on the materials, supplies and equipment which are necessary to carry out the daily school routine.
Specific Professional Responsibilities (Community)
·Leads, manages, and oversees all matters related to student affairs, including wellbeing, personal development, community involvement and external projects.
·Leads and manages all matters related to parental liaison and communication regarding the well-being and personal development of students, including parental concerns related to whole school matters.
·Leads and manages the termly reporting of student progress to parents, including academic grades, behaviour reports, individual target setting and core skills.
·Ensures the sharing and dissemination of ADEK communications, which require school action related to operational matters and/or matters of compliance.
·Ensures the design, organization and implementation of the National Identity strategy; monitor levels of school participation, as well as student involvement and the impact on their understanding and appreciation of the National Identity of the UAE.
·Ensures the development of productive and positive relationships with the local community through activities, projects and communications, which promote the work of the school and the achievements and skills of the students.
·Monitors and reports on the quality of teaching and learning within all subjects.
·Ensures the designated Vice Principal works closely and effectively with the Heads of Department to continually seek out ways to improve the quality of teaching and learning in KG to Grade 12, including coaching, mentoring, professional development, peer observations etc.
·Ensures all data regarding the quality of teaching and learning is used effectively to identify areas for improvement.
·Ensures the designated Vice Principal works closely with the Heads of Department to monitor, evaluate and review progress of all pupils, ensuring continuity and progression in their learning, while at the same time giving support to colleagues in all aspects of their work in this area.
·Any other duties deemed reasonable, as requested by the Executive Principal, Deputy CEO or CEO.

Qualifications & Experience:
Master’s Degree in Education or other Leadership qualification.
A minimum of 8 years in the field of education, including at least 5 years teaching experience
2 or more years as Vice Principal in international/American curriculum schools.
Proven track record in student achievement and staff management.
Familiarity with UAE/GCC education systems is a plus.
