Job Description
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Meat Sales Manager to lead our meat department and ensure exceptional customer service and profitability. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department, including staff management, inventory control, product selection, merchandising, and ensuring top-quality meat products.
Key Responsibilities:
• Respond to all sales enquiries within 24 hours, to client, either domestic or international
• Expected to handle end to end sales and marketing activities
• Provide weekly updates on sales activities to the Director
• Manage and report sales and marketing statistics and analytics to the Management
• Responsible for securing new customers, maintaining and developing existing accounts
• Lead and motivate a team of butchers and meat department staff.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies and regulations.
• Conduct staff training on sanitation procedures and customer service.
• Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed sales goals for the meat department.
• Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, pricing, and stock rotation to minimize waste and spoilage.
• Select and source high-quality meat products from reliable suppliers, considering customer preferences and market trends.
• Design and maintain visually appealing and informative meat displays, adhering to merchandising best practices.
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the meat department, ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales costs.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
• Liaise with other departments within the store to ensure smooth operation and product flow.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and new product offerings.

Skills and Competencies:
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a meat department or butcher shop, preferably in a retail setting.
• Proven experience in leading and motivating a team.
• Strong knowledge of meat cuts, sanitation procedures, and safe food handling practices.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with customers.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
