Key roles and responsibilities:
•Inspecting
the workplace regularly to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance
with safety standards.
•Crafting
effective safety policies and procedures that meet local and federal
regulations.
•Conducting
training sessions to educate employees on safety protocols and best practices.
•Creating
and managing emergency plans to ensure the organization is ready to handle any
crisis or disaster.
•Ensuring
the organization complies with local and federal safety regulations and
standards.
•Thoroughly
investigating accidents and incidents in the workplace to identify causes and
prevent reoccurrence.
•Conducting
regular safety audits and reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of safety
procedures and policies.
•Providing
guidance and advice to management on safety-related matters and recommending
improvements.
•Implementing
initiatives to raise safety awareness and foster a culture of safety throughout
the organization.
•Regularly
verifying that employees and contractors are following safety protocols to
prevent accidents and injuries.
•Implementing
and managing a safety reporting system to encourage employees to report
potential hazards or incidents.
•Actively
participating in safety meetings to stay informed, provide insights, and
contribute to safety improvements.
•Assessment
of risks in the workplace according to the activity of the establishment and
all its facilities including the labor accommodations.
•Set
occupational health and safety objectives.
•Develop
HS&E Action Plans and Emergency Response Plans.
•Prepare
plans for periodic medical checkups for employees engaged in hazardous
activities.
•Draft
occupational safety and health guidelines.
•Implement
safety controls and requirements related to equipment and tools purchased or
rented.
•Participate
in the selection of appropriate training courses for workers according to the
risks associated with their duties.
•Supervise
and follow up on the implementation of occupational health and safety
requirements in workplaces according to the relevant laws.
•Carry
out an internal inspection to ensure staff and contracted establishments
members comply with the HS&E instructions and requirements.
•Determine
the safety of workplaces and suitability for operation.
•Implement
preventive actions to prevent incidents.
•Check
the safety and serviceability of safety equipment and tools.
•Report
incidents instantly through the reporting channels provided by the Ministry of
Human Resources and Emiratization and RAKEZ.
•Prepare
incident reports and save them in the incident record.
•Prepare
occupational health and safety reports and maintain them in a special file.
•Educate
and instruct workers about HS&E requirements.
•Continuous
development and improvement of regulations, guidelines, and instructions.
•Develop
improvement plans and recommendations after work incidents occur.
•Decide
on the observations and suggestions of workers in matters related to
occupational health and safety.
The candidate must possess expertise/experience in the following
domains:
•Proven
leadership capability.
•Diploma
or Bachelor's Degree (Engineering, Science, Safety, or Environmental).
•Ten
(10) years of professional safety experience in the field of industrial
operation or construction.
•Experience
in preparing a Risk Assessment and Strong knowledge of requirements of ISO
9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
•NEBOSH
International or National General Certificate in Occupational Safety &
Health, or CSP/CRSP/CMIOSH/IDipNEBOSH or equivalent and Local / International
equivalent qualification.
•Emergency
Management Certification, Certified CPR, AED, and First Aiders. Certified basic
Fire Fighters.
Completed and attended training on Risk Assessment, and
Local / International equivalent qualification.
•Incumbent
should have a broad general technical and business background.
•Professional
registration may also be required.
•Should
be registered under the authority.
•Must
have the ability to manage projects, interface with clients and enjoy being
hands on technically in the project.
•Comprehensive
knowledge of industry standards. Proven ability to perform in a management
capacity, excellent written and oral communications.
•Strong
eye for detail coupled with a methodical and organized approach;
