Job Description

We are looking to hire a Risk Engineer / Risk Assessment Surveyor – (Insurance) who has experience in the Insurance industry. He will be required to carry out Field visits to conduct Risk Assessment Survey - visit industrial sites, identify hazards (fire and natural catastrophe), evaluate and communicate the risk to Underwriting Dept, present recommendations for risk improvement and undertake follow-up activities where required.


Essential Job Functions:  


1.Conduct site loss prevention evaluations in the Middle East, which identify all reasonable foreseeable physical and human element exposures. Organize and schedule loss prevention surveys.


2.Accurately quantify the exposure in terms of physical damage to property (building and contents) and the impact to the business.


3.Assure the operational functionality of protective equipment at customer locations through physical on-site testing and the analysis of in-house maintenance and testing procedures.


4.Obtain local customer understanding and agreement on the hazards / exposures and the resulting potential business impact.


5.Achieve practical, effective on-site risk improvement at customer locations especially in the areas of human element and low cost physical improvements.


6.Manage change effectively at customer locations through timely and high quality plan review services. This should ensure that loss prevention aspects are considered and incorporated at the design stage of the project.


7.Accurately communicate the exposures at the site within the Tokio Marine Loss Prevention Report.


8.Stay abreast of latest loss prevention technology.


Qualification for Position:


  • Degree qualified (Mechanical or Civil Engineering preferred)
  • Some formal loss prevention training desirable i.e. with FM, IRI, Kemper
  • High level knowledge of NFPA and/or FM loss prevention standards
  • 4-5 years’ UAE experience of conducting site visits, identifying hazards, quantifying the risk associated with these, developing risk improvements and providing ongoing support for the implementation
  • UAE Driving licence is mandatory
