The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for one of JLL’s high profile clients, you will play a pivotal role to support the client’s programme and ensure that we deliver our sustainability and social value obligations. The contract is permanent.
We are aligned with the client you’ll be supporting to drive sustainability and social value through everything that we do, across all service lines, operations, and job positions.
Main duties and responsibilities
Report to a senior member of our EMEA Sustainable Operations team, with dotted line to Account Director, to deliver the client’s sustainability and social value strategy in a co-ordinated manner Oversee the management of the sustainability and social value element of the client’s programme governance structure as well as our JLL team Manage analyst team and be the go-to person for sustainability within the account team and provide training Develop and implement management plans for sustainability initiatives across the portfolio and embed within overall JLL account delivery Coordinate and manage the delivery of the social value (SV) scope with the SV expert. Undertake sustainability audits on site when needed Develop and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual sustainability reports to client Take ownership of sustainability and social value contract requirement and performance reporting systems including development, tracking, and updating of KPI’s Populate and frequently update the social value tracker and track results Conduct impact analysis of sustainability and social value initiatives and identify action to deliver enhanced outcomes Coordinate with account global team for continued improvement and consistency of deliverables Be the key point of contact for the client on all sustainability and social value elements related to managing their workplace services Build and maintain a strong relationship with the client and other key stakeholders within JLL
Skills and Experience – Essential
Minimum 7 years work experience as a sustainability manager or experience in delivering similar responsibilities in a different role Be passionate about sustainability and social value Ability to engage with colleagues both within JLL and client side at various levels of seniority and understanding of sustainability as a subject matter area Experienced in working within a complex, corporate environment Experienced in managing accounts for clients with complex needs Consistently deliver performance targets and takes quick, corrective action when required to exceed expectations where possible Previous evidence of creating sustainability reports, strategies and communication materials within a large client or organisational setting A proven track record of delivery and understanding of the latest sustainability and social value themes and approaches Able to deliver high-quality work in a timely manner while under time pressure Great communication skills - excellent presentation skills (verbal and written) Ability to think broadly, create a shared vision, and embrace change as an opportunity The ability to work under minimal supervision in a rigorous manner to deliver accurate, high quality, engaging and client ready outputs
Skills and Experience – Desirable
An overall understanding and experience of delivering sustainability solutions or programmes within real estate Experience managing sustainability and social value in a facilities management environment Bachelor or Master’s degree in a sustainability, environmental, or building performance related subject
