Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a Regional Portfolio Manager (RPM) for our growing Global Reliability Team (GRT) to play a critical role in managing operational building facility services against a backdrop of Amazon's fast growth and technology innovation.

The Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team maintains and optimizes technologies ranging from large, modern, purpose-built warehouses utilizing robotics and high-volume conveyance all the way through the value chain to small, high speed warehouses placed as close to our customers as possible. The GRT team compliments RME by building technical products, best in class practices, programs, standards and tools to deliver success for over 20,000 technicians and engineers across the globe.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

This central role exists to ensure that hard and soft facilities services are delivered to the required level across our distribution sites, guaranteeing compliance, employee safety and minimal downtime. This particular role offers an exciting challenge by supporting sites across the UAE, India and AU. The crucial Leadership Principle is Customer Obsession, whether that is site-based RME to help them deliver the services as cost-effectively as possible, our Operations teams so they can work safely and in comfort, or the end customer to ensure their orders are never delayed due to facility issues.

Key job responsibilities

• Support RME site-based teams and GCRT colleagues in overseeing the delivery of hard (building assets and infrastructure, e.g. HVAC, electrical, drainage systems) and soft (janitorial, waste, pest control, snow removal) facilities services at operational sites within the regional scope. The primary focus of this role is on hard services, but support may be required for soft services to assist the dedicated soft services lead for this region

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to site-based facilities leads

• Act as escalation point for safety, quality of service, and downtime incidents

• Collaborate with Procurement to govern major vendors to ensure continued high performance, including measurement of KPI and SLA

• Collaborate with other functions, especially Procurement and Finance, to optimize the vendor landscape and scope of services

• Dive Deep into service and asset performance data to identify opportunities for improvement

• Support the rollout of central initiatives to improve services, e.g. process changes, technology deployments, sustainability initiatives

• Develop and lead pilots to improve services ahead of regional rollout by self and others

• Support RME teams on launch sites to ensure facility services are secured on time and in full

• Manage multiple complex projects and tasks simultaneously, while influencing and developing relationships at a range of organization levels

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one.
