Job Description



Role summary:



Reports clinically to the Senior Medical Director GSI and coordinates on all operational matters with the relevant Regional Operations Director and Director of Delivery as needed.
Based in Dubai but with regular travel to operational locations, the Regional Medical Director is responsible for providing medical leadership and expertise throughout our area of operations (AOR). The Regional Medical Director is responsible for medically overseeing patient care, managing teams of physicians, paramedics, nurses, and clinical technicians.
Additionally, the Regional Medical Director will liaise with any external medical subcontractors, suppliers or consultants who maybe contracted by the company and verify their competence through audit.

Duties and responsibilities:



Responsible for the performance and development of the clinical staff that report to them. Responsible for implementing clinical governance protocols. Provide daily point of contact for deployed clinical staffs for all clinical issues relating to projects in the region. Provides clinical leadership to clinical staff, including advising and approving staff selection, development of staff responsibilities, staff wellbeing and advise on rotational scheduling as needed. Work collaboratively and closely with relevant Regional Operations Manager, project support teams and country management teams. Responsible for implementation and adherence to the Iqarus Quality Management System (QMS). Responsible for ensuring that accurate and timely clinical records are kept and stored according to international standards. Responsible for collaborating with other Regional Medical Directors to ensure that clinical standards are common across the company. Responsible for implementing CPD programs. Member of clinical governance committee. Works with other departments as needed to assist in the development of solutions for new projects. Proactively engages with clients. Assists in budgeting for clinical services. Able to deputies for other medical directors as needed. Responsible for ensuring standardization of clinical protocols, pharma and equipment across all regions wherever practicable and possible. Responsible for developing and updating QMS documents as directed. Regularly coordinates, attends, and directs practice meetings for both staff and clinicians. Appropriately addresses concerns regarding the conduct and performance of physicians and clinical staff, leading or participating or in investigations as required. Provides evaluation along with evidenced based appraisal and observations to physicians to improve patient care, clinical operations and comprehensive processes of care. Proactively liaises and builds strong relationships with client organization Medical Officers. Responsible for leading on the standardization of clinical SOPs across all regions. Working with an OH consultant, oversee the Occupational Health screening of new joiners. Review and implementation of all Primary Health Care and Occupational Health procedures. Review and approve all Primary Health Care and Occupational Health equipment seeking interoperability and standardization where possible. Review and approve all Primary Health Care and Occupational Health staff as needed. Responsible for leading the development of clinical specialties for which the incumbent is most qualified.

Qualifications



Graduation from an accredited WHO approved Medical University. Listed in World Directory of Medical Schools. Minimum 10 years practice experience in Emergency Medicine, an acute care specialty, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine. Remain in good standing with appropriate professional regulatory body, with current license to practice. Minimum of 4 years in an upper management position. Previous military experience would be an advantage.

Additional Information



Key Skills:



Excellent understanding of Clinical Governance practices. Good computer skills and the ability to operate MS Office with Outlook, Word and PowerPoint. Leadership of small clinical teams in remote locations.
