Job Purpose


A Receiving Clerk will manage the goods and deliveries moving in and out of the hotel and will ensure that these deliveries reach the appropriate destinations and logged according to the company's purchasing and procurement standards.


  • Inspects deliveries of Food, beverage, general, engineering and operational supplies to ensure that they conform to quality specification and ensure that a duly authorized and valid purchase order exists for the supply.
  • Acceptance and close control of all incoming goods in respect of volume and quantity
  • Enter all internal goods movements into the computer system daily
  • Carry out monthly inventories with Controlling; ensure orderliness and cleanliness in her/his area of responsibility
  • Responsible for acceptance and rough checks on all items entering the hotel by volume and quality
  • Ensure each supplier invoice has a purchase order number and a receiving document number
  • Check Unit prices with the Purchase order.
  • Open Boxes for inspection.
  • Send all store items to the respective stores and all direct purchases to the requesting departments.
  • Posts all receipts into the system. Prepares receiving records for all items received and compile receiving report.
  • Ensure that a register is maintained for temperature measurement in the receiving area as required by Municipality and in line with hygiene and safety standards
  • Report any deviations to the Cost controller
  • Inform the purchasing department of all undelivered items and items returned due to not meeting required standards.
  • Ensure that the requirements of Dubai Municipality are fully met. Thorough coordination with relevant personnel from the hotels hygiene and safety committee is essential
  • To be fully aware, and ensure adherence to the hotel’s policies and procedures regarding hygiene and safety standards.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Min. 2 years’ experience as Receiving Clerk in hotel industry
  • Effective communication skills and pleasant personality
  • Knowledge of various accounting software such as OPERA, FMC
  • Graduation in accounting from a reputed university
  • HACCP certification is an added advantage
  • MS Office knowledge required
