REBAR DETAILER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of a Rebar Detailer in a contracting company is to ensure the accurate detailing, scheduling, and coordination of reinforcement bars (rebar) for construction projects. Their role is critical in preventing material waste, minimizing construction errors, and improving efficiency on-site.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare detailed reinforcement drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and shop drawings based on structural and architectural designs.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and site teams to ensure detailing accuracy and project requirements are met.
• Interpret and analyze structural drawings to identify potential issues and propose solutions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Work closely with project teams to meet deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
• Use CAD software and specialized rebar detailing software (e.g., AutoCAD, RebarCAD, Tekla Structures) for preparation of drawings.
• Review and verify detailing work to prevent errors that may affect construction.
• Assist in material take-offs and estimation related to reinforcement requirements.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure accurate order placements for rebar supply.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all detailing work and modifications as required.
  

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the GCC, ideally in the UAE, with a contracting background.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, RebarCAD, Tekla Structures, or other rebar detailing software.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, reinforcement detailing, and industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards such as ACI, BS, and Eurocodes.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to liaise with engineers, site teams, and suppliers.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
