We are currently working exclusively with a chemical manufacturing company that boasts over 25+ years of experience in the GCC market. Specializing in manufacturing household chemicals, including detergents, fabric softeners, and cleaners, they have developed more than 50 proprietary formulations, with their emphasis on providing their clients with high quality and affordable products. The company partners with over 100 local and international suppliers, distributing its products through major retailers & Hypermarkets across the GCC and beyond.
As part of their drive to grow their already well-established business they are looking to hire an R&D Manager to drive innovation & new product development for their range of household cleaning & washing detergent product lines. To be successful you will have a Chemical Engineering background with a minimum of 5+ years practical experience in Chemical manufacturing environment. We are looking for someone able to review & renew Chemical formulations with a flair for innovation, able to spot upcoming market trends & act to get ahead of the curve in new product development. You will be encouraged to look at full product development strategies, covering both formulations & packaging to gain an advantage in a competitive market. We’re open to candidates with UAE / GGC experience and also candidates with relevant experience in other geographies who are open to relocating to Dubai.

Summary of R&D Manager's main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new products and processes aligned with market demands.
- Apply advanced technologies like hydraulic kinetic resolution and solid-phase synthesis.
- Optimize production by analyzing processes and conditions.
- Oversee all manufacturing processes and undertake small-scale manufacturing.
- Ensure environmental considerations and safety are integrated into plant design.
- Test raw materials, conduct audits, and ensure ISO compliance.
- Manage customer complaints and eliminate defective products.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager and attend staff meetings.
- Ensure product quality, process safety, and maintain company policies.
Internal Stakeholder Management / Coordination:
- Production Manager re daily production in terms of products formulation and quality control
- QC Manager on quality assurance of each produced batch
- Purchase Manager when allocating orders for raw materials, chemicals, bottles, packaging ect.
- Sales Manager regarding features of the products, market needs for packaging, store conditions
Background & Experience Required:
- Expertise in the company's product technology.
- Knowledge of technical requirements for raw materials, materials, and finished products.
- Understanding of physicochemical properties and research methodologies.
- Proficient with laboratory equipment and operations.
- Familiarity with domestic and foreign technologies in similar industries.
- Knowledge of safety, environmental, and protection regulations.
- 10 years of industry experience.
- Ability to communicate with staff and management on performance.
- Awareness of the latest chemistry innovations in household product segments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Knowledge / training in Organic Chemicals + experience of synthesizing fragrance would be a distinct advantage also.
