Job Description
- Cost Estimation & Budgeting:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for MEP-related works in process plants, energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Assist in developing and managing budgets for MEP packages, ensuring cost control throughout the project.
- Tendering & Procurement:
- Review BOQs (Bill of Quantities), scope of works, and specifications for MEP packages.
- Support procurement processes, including supplier/subcontractor negotiations and tender evaluations.
- Contract Administration:
- Assist in managing contractual obligations with MEP subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, project specifications, and FIDIC contract conditions (if applicable).
- Cost Control & Variations:
- Monitor project costs, variations, and claims to ensure alignment with the approved budget.
- Evaluate and negotiate variations/change orders related to HVAC, electrical, piping, and mechanical installations.
- Payment & Reporting:
- Prepare and verify progress valuations, payment applications, and cost reports.
- Provide regular cost forecasts and financial reports to senior management.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience as an MEP QS in process plants, power/energy, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, piping, electrical installations, and instrumentation in energy or process industries.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software, AutoCAD, MS Excel, and contract management tools.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, cost control principles, and procurement strategies.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently, with a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
