Job Description
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for MEP systems, including mechanical (HVAC), electrical and plumbing based on the project specifications and drawings.
- Develop and update interim valuations for work completed based on approved inspection reports and prepare and submit interim payment applications and issue subcontractor payment certifications and maintain logs.
- Analyze the instructions, comments on drawings and submittals to identify any deviation from project specifications and scope of works.
- Prepare draft notice of variation/ claim for any deviation from contract with supporting documents for the review of Sr. QS and Contract Manager and ensure timely submissions.
- Prepare cost proposals for variations including measurement sheets, rate build-ups and supporting documents for the review of Sr. QS and ensure timely submission and maintain logs.
- Identifying any events that lead to additional cost and time impacts to the project and maintain proper records of such events. Liaise with the planning engineer to prepare draft delay notices and subsequent detailed particulars for the review of Sr QS and Contract Manager and ensure timely submission.
- Prepare monthly cashflow forecast and cost value reconciliation report.
- Participate in negotiations with suppliers, vendors and subcontractors on material and consumables.
- Prepare Final Account statements for the main contract and subcontract packages.
- Preparing risk and opportunity assessments and maintaining risk registers and logs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or diploma in quantity surveying or in related field with (04-05 Years) in the oil & gas / construction industry.
Additional Information
Experience Requirements:
- Experience level: 04-05 years.
- 02 years or more experience UAE or Middle East
- Minimum 03 years as Quantity Surveyor on sizeable projects in similar business or industry
- HSE compliance and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Skills & Professional Requirements:
- Strong understanding of quantification, cost estimation and commercial management.
- Strong understanding of project cost control and reporting.
- Knowledge in standard methods of measurements such as CESMM, POMI etc… and standard forms of contract.
- Understanding of the principles of design and construction.
- Base knowledge of risk management procedures, processes and management tools.
- Good knowledge of contract practices and contract administration.
- Analytical, critical, and logical thinking skills and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
