Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct inspections of civil works, including excavation, backfilling, concrete placement, formwork, reinforcement, masonry, finishing, and other structural components, to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Verify that all materials used on-site conform to approve material submittals and specification.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and method statements to understand quality requirements and ensure adherence to approved plans.
- Report any non-compliance issues and suggest corrective measure.
- Witness and record results of tests such as slump tests, compaction tests, concrete cube tests, etc.
- Identify and report non-conformances related to civil works, including material and workmanship deviations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality-related documentation.
- Conduct pre-pour inspections for formwork, reinforcement, and embedded items before concrete placement.
- Perform post-pour inspections to verify surface finishes, curing practices, and dimensional accuracy.
Skills
- Good leadership and communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English language.
- In-depth understanding of civil engineering principles, construction materials, and methods.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and design documents.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as ASTM, ACI, BS, and local regulations.
- Knowledge of on-site testing procedures (e.g., concrete slump, compaction, concrete cube strength)
- Experience in preparing and reviewing quality documentation, including daily reports and NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
- Proficiency in maintaining detailed inspection records and preparing quality reports.
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for reviewing drawings .
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other reporting tools .
- Should be conversant with oil & gas HSE requirements, work practices and quality standards.
Education : Diploma / degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience : 3 - 8 years experience.
