Job Summary:
The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality standards for infrastructure projects . This role involves coordinating with project teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure construction processes and outcomes adhere to project specifications, safety regulations, and environmental standards. The QA/QC Engineer will inspect materials, monitor construction activities, conduct tests, and manage documentation to ensure project deliverables meet high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:Quality Assurance & Quality Control:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive QA/QC plan for the project, including procedures, inspection schedules, and checklists.
- Monitor and assess construction activities, materials, and methods to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections, review contractor work, and document any deviations or non-conformities.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented for any non-conformances or quality issues.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports, test records, and material certifications.
- Document quality-related activities, findings, and results, and prepare detailed reports for internal and client review.
- Track and update project quality metrics, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Testing & Inspection:
- Coordinate and conduct on-site tests, such as concrete slump tests, soil compaction tests, and material strength tests, to verify compliance with standards.
- Inspect and verify that materials, equipment, and work methods are as specified and meet industry standards.
- Monitor third-party inspections and testing agencies to verify that their work is accurate and meets regulatory and project standards.
Coordination & Communication:
- Work closely with the project manager, site supervisors, and contractors to address and resolve quality issues.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team regarding quality requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and provide recommendations to enhance the quality and efficiency of construction activities.
- Assist in conducting root cause analyses for quality issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in internal and external audits, and contribute to lessons learned reviews at the end of the project.
Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in quality control and quality assurance for infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, railways, utilities).
- Certifications: Certification in Quality Management or Construction Quality (e.g., CQE, ASQ) is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, quality management systems, and relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASTM, ISO 9001).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in quality control tools and software, understanding of testing procedures for construction materials.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
