Job Description
- Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed project plans for MEP systems, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (civil, structural, etc.) to integrate MEP systems into overall project designs.
- Review and analyze engineering designs, specifications, and technical drawings for MEP systems to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Provide technical support during the design phase, including proposing modifications or solutions to technical challenges.
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of MEP systems on-site, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during construction and installation.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Review and approve technical documentation and drawings submitted by contractors.
- Manage contractor performance, ensuring that work meets quality and safety standards.
- Ensure that all MEP systems comply with local and international standards, regulations, and codes (e.g., ASME, API, NEC).
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Monitor project budgets and costs related to MEP systems, identifying any variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare and submit regular cost reports to project managers.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure that all MEP activities are carried out in compliance with HSE policies and regulations.
- Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations related to MEP systems.
- Maintain detailed records of project progress, including site reports, as-built drawings, and change orders.
- Prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and any issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Project Management.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with large-scale oil and gas projects, including offshore and onshore facilities.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP engineering within the oil and gas industry.
Additional Information
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, piping, electrical systems, fire protection, and plumbing.
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC design tools).
- Understanding of relevant standards and codes (e.g., ASME, API, NEC, NFPA).
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with team members, contractors, and clients.
- Experience with HSE regulations and a commitment to safety.
- May involve working in harsh or remote environments, with exposure to hazardous materials or extreme weather conditions.
- Will require frequent site visits and the ability to work extended hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
