Project Director - Solar PV Project - Uzbekistan

We are looking for a Project Director to lead a major Solar PV project in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. This role requires strong project management and renewable energy experience, specifically in solar PV.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution:



    • Develop and approve the project execution strategy and schedule.
    • Collaborate with design and finance teams to ensure project readiness.
    • Oversee procurement, site assessments, and resource mobilization.
    • Ensure safety and quality standards are met throughout the project.


  • Team and Client Management:



    • Manage the project team and ensure effective communication.
    • Build strong relationships with the client and keep them updated on progress.
    • Ensure subcontractors meet quality and safety standards.


  • Monitoring & Reporting:



    • Regularly review project progress against schedule, quality, and budget.
    • Address any issues promptly and keep all stakeholders informed.
    • Submit regular reports to management and clients.


  • Financial Management:



    • Manage the project budget and ensure profitability.
    • Handle invoicing, claims, and collections as required.


  • Compliance:



    • Ensure the project complies with all legal and safety requirements.


Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate Electrical Engineer.
  • Experience: 20+ years in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical aspects of PV Solar projects, especially in the Middle East or CIS countries.
  • Experience in managing large-scale Solar EPC projects (Greenfield).
  • Skills:
    • Strong project management and leadership experience.
    • Ability to manage teams and multiple stakeholders.
    • Expertise in safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
    • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and cost control.
    • Knowledge of statutory requirements and safety regulations for renewable energy projects.
