Job Description

At the heart of every great stay is a great host. We think the trick to hosting is to take the time to understand what your guests need, and want. So before they arrive, we find out more about them and how we can make their stay better. Whilst they are with us we give tempting recommendations of our favourite drinks or food, or tips for local experiences that they won’t find in any guide book.


Your day to day


  • Communicate with the Procurement Manager & prepare reports and meetings for all relevant matters.
  • Prepare comparison on products and forward to Procurement Manager for review.
  • Liaise with all department heads for their requirements and to advise for economical order quantities including the setting of min/max stock levels, in coordination with the storekeeper.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance in proper uniform and hygiene at all times. 
  • Monitor all products purchased for quality and specification.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with the suppliers at all times.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with the concerned Department’s Heads informing them of delivery dates, supply problems, and possible alternative products.
  • Manage and process Purchase Requests ensuring competitive quotations, delivery dates, and specifications are obtained.
  • Keep the computer system updated on all purchases.
  • Maintain all the department records and forms as dictated by the Hotel policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current and updated supplier records with regard to cost, services, and credibility.
  • Hold regular department briefings to discuss purchasing and general information relating to operations.
  • Creating Local Purchase Order in Sky Jana system and fax to the supplier.

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Understand and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations established in the IHG Colleagues’ Code of Conduct and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
  • Promote efficiency, confidence, courtesy, and an extremely high standard of social skills.
  • Generally promote and ensure good inter-departmental relations.
  • Display a pleasant manner and positive attitude at all times and promote a good company image to guests and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate pride in the workplace and personal appearance at all times when representing the hotel thus identifying a high level of commitment.

What we need from you


At voco® Dubai, we look for hosts who are reliably different and contribute to the success of bringing our brand to life! Ideally, you'll have a minimum of 2- 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a four or five-star hotel or comparable industry, ability to demonstrate working with commercially focused and a keen eye for detail with strong analytical & numerical skillsHigh-level competence in Microsoft Excel and other office packages. Proven negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills along with being quality-oriented with a focus on details, high-performance standards, ability to multi-task & meet deadlines, and technical proficiency in related software preferable.
