Job Description

The Procurement Manager will oversee all purchasing and procurement activities for the construction projects, ensuring cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services, while maintaining high quality and adherence to project timelines.

Procurement Strategy and Planning:


  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and organizational goals.
  • Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and new suppliers.

Vendor Management:


  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, pricing, or delivery.

Contract Management:


  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure favourable terms and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage agreements for procurement of materials, equipment, and services.

Cost Control:


  • Optimize procurement processes to achieve cost reduction without compromising quality.
  • Analyse and control procurement budgets, reporting variances and proposing corrective actions.

Material Management:


  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to avoid project delays.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to assess material needs.

Compliance and Reporting:


  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of managing procurement for large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
