Summary
The Contract Manager will play an important role in the joint venture’s endeavour to establish new ways of working onsite by overseeing contractual agreements, negotiations, and compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of contract management principles, as well as the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that contractual obligations are met and risks are mitigated effectively.
Major duties/responsibilities
EPC contract management spanning multiple years that govern design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases of large infra projects
Ensure contract enforcement on basis of the agreement with the EPC contractor.Ensure close collaboration, communication, alignment between the partiesto ensure contractual alignment. (technical background is a prerequisite)
Risk Management on commercial (cost & schedule) and legal obligations and possible liabilitiestowards the Project Directorto prepare and back up decisions. Ability to think ahead and prepare and support decisions.
Ensure stakeholder management encompassing the strategic ins and outs of managing internal stakeholders, partners and Contractor.
Ensure compliancy on legal and regulatory requirements and internal policies
Manage risk allocation related to EPC contracts on risks related to design changes, delays, cost overruns and quality control. Ability to allocate/communicate/spot liabilities timely and effectively
Control expenditure through negotiations/ contract performance monitoring / identifying opportunities for savings
Perform other related duties as assigned
Your profile
Education requirement (Bachelor degree in Finance or Business Management or equivalent
Number of years of experience required is +15 years
Prerequisite: knowledge of technical and commercial disciplines related to Oil & Gas development projects
Prerequisite: Exposure and experience in EPC environments, contracts knowledge and execution / follow-up thereof.
Administration and Claims Management
Geographic focus in Ruwais,Middle East is a must.
Solid conflict resolution experience, able to act as a mediator, can steer the direction to achieve a mutually acceptable solution (to avoid costs and impact on business relationships)
Mandatory that the candidate has a proficiency in in the standard MS Office applications, as well as exposure to design aspects and knowledge of MS Projects
Working conditions
Work requirement is to be physically on-site 5 days a week during working hours
5% of travel may be required
