Role Profile:

Supporting NPD Team to transfer their innovative ideas to production for commercialisation

The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

• Developing new packaging designs for a range of products for brands within the Alshaya portfolio such as Starbucks, The Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang’s etc.
• Packaging Process Technologists Conducting packaging functionality tests for new product development.
• Performing machinability trials for flow wrapping different-sized food products, ensuring competence in processes, machinery, and related packaging.
• Developing keylines (AutoCAD) for flow wrap (Repeat Length and Cut Width) based on machine trials, focusing on primary packaging.
• Developing SPC and wrap boards for sandwiches and wraps packaging, generally using white backboard of 300-450 GSM depending on the nature and weight of the product.
• Developing carton sizes and specifications for both internal and export packaging.
• Finalizing specifications for all packaging materials (TDS).
• Conducting necessary trials before finalizing specifications and product launch.
• Maintaining color management in all artworks for all brands during the artwork stage.
• Driving cost-saving projects to help the supply chain achieve yearly savings.
• Driving EPD projects to optimize necessary packaging materials.
• Supporting production in packaging and date coding for new product launches.
• Initiating transit trials and recording results to determine if they pass or fail.
• Sending samples to assigned locations as part of packaging.
• Analyzing process capability and identifying gaps against the new product brief.
• Organizing shop floor trials of new products and validating process parameters.
• Preparing necessary documents and reports that summarize tests, observations, processing concerns, manufacturing constraints, project progress, recommendations, and decisions.

Knowledge:

- Desirable to have a Packaging Engineering & or Food technology Degree

- Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) can be beneficial

- Must have knowledge of Food Chemistry

- Must have knowledge of Food Nutrition

- Experience in bakery, food production both chilled and frozen is a bonus
