About the job PROCESS ENGINEER

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and overseeing the implementation of process systems in industrial operations. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure processes are designed and operated efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the overall performance of our processes across the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and optimize process flows, process control strategies, and design specifications for industrial systems.
    • Perform mass and energy balance calculations, process simulation, and other engineering analyses to ensure process efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
    • Design, analyze, and review PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) for plant systems.
    • Work with multidisciplinary teams to design systems that meet technical specifications and operational requirements.
    • Provide technical support during the design, construction, and commissioning of process systems, ensuring compliance with design standards and specifications.
    • Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless execution of process-related aspects.
    • Conduct process hazard analysis (PHA), risk assessments, and safety reviews to ensure safe operation of processes.
    • Identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and issues, and propose effective solutions to improve performance, safety, and reliability.
    • Work on continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing existing processes and ensuring cost savings without compromising quality.
    • Assist in trouble-shooting process-related problems and support operations in resolving issues related to process performance.
    • Ensure all process design and operation work adheres to local, national, and international standards and regulations.
    • Document process designs, operating procedures, and technical reports.
    • Maintain and update process documentation to reflect changes, upgrades, or optimizations in design or operation.
    • Work closely with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams, to ensure integrated design solutions.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
    • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and training sessions as required.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
    • Advanced degrees (Masters or PhD) or certifications in relevant areas are a plus.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process engineering within industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, energy, or manufacturing.
    • Experience with process design, simulation software, and system optimization techniques.
    • Previous involvement in plant commissioning, startup, or operations is highly desirable.
    • Strong understanding of process design principles, process control, and system optimization.
    • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or similar).
    • Ability to perform detailed technical calculations, including material and energy balances.
    • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI, etc.).
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical information clearly.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is a plus.
    • Process safety, project management, or similar certifications are an advantage.
