Job Description

Overview of role:


We are looking for an accomplished Private Markets professional to join our dynamic, diverse SSGA Middle East & Africa (MEA) team for a 12-month assignment. Based in our Dubai office, you will be a key member of the regional leadership team, reporting to the Head of MEA and Official Institutions.


You will lead our efforts to map out the firm’s opportunity set for Private Market strategies with institutional and intermediary clients across EMEA. You will also play a key role in initiating engagement with potential LP’s, representing our capabilities at external events and conferences and contributing product ideas.


You areas of focus will include private credit, infrastructure, real estate and secondaries.


You will need to collaborate closely with colleagues, external partners  and key stakeholders across Product, Investments, Marketing and Sales.


We want you to develop a deep understanding of the SSGA franchise in the region to anticipate the needs of our clients, manage business at risk and actively contribute to the region’s business growth.


What we will ask you to do:
  • Help identify current market trends supporting allocations to private market strategies
  • Map out potential LP’s  for current or future private markets products in key jurisdictions across both Institutional and Intermediary segments
  • Formalize 3-year Go-To-Market strategy for the region
  • Become a key regional Subject Matter Expert on private market strategies and, as such, work in partnership with our colleagues and partners in Product, Investments, Marketing and Sales
  • Take a leading role in initiating client engagement with pre-identified prospects, with the objective to facilitate asset raising efforts in 2025

Qualifications


What we would love you to be:


  • Academic background in finance, economics, business or a related field
  • In-depth understanding of private market asset classes including private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate and secondaries
  • Over 10 years experience in structuring and distributing Private Market products across EMEA
  • Willing to travel extensively across the region and internationally when required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of EMEA legal/regulatory frameworks governing private markets
  • A good problem solver and trouble-shooter, with the ability to identify and analyze issues with the creativity and energy to solve them
