The Role
As a Principal Solution Consultant, you’ll bring your expertise in seismic interpretation to deliver technical demonstrations, knowledge transfer, and specialized support to customers using AspenTech SSE solutions. This role requires experience with seismic interpretation tools, a collaborative approach to cross-domain selling, and a proactive attitude in identifying and developing business opportunities. You’ll work closely with our sales team to support pre-sales activities, prepare technical specifications, and contribute to building a healthy pipeline to drive new business and renewals.
Your Impact
Pre-Sales Expertise and Cross-Domain Collaboration: Reporting to the Solution Consulting Director, you will lead pre-sales activities for AspenTech SSE’s G&G Seismic Interpretation domain. You’ll provide comprehensive technical support to the sales team, including preparing technical specifications, delivering tailored demonstrations, and actively contributing to tender documentation to support new business pursuits.
Sales and PCS Contract Renewal: Support sales and management in all aspects of PCS contract renewals and account growth. You’ll work alongside the sales team managing renewal processes, providing technical insights that help secure renewals and expand contract scope when possible.
Opportunity Identification and Customer Value Enhancement: Be proactive in identifying opportunities for increased customer engagement and value. You’ll conduct assessments to drive higher software utilization rates, recommend features or new modules that address customer needs, and communicate up-sell and cross-sell opportunities to the management team.
Pipeline Growth and Renewals: Play a key role in growing our sales pipeline and renewals by conducting technical update sessions that showcase the latest features and improvements, facilitating the adoption of cross-domain solutions, and identifying ways to bring additional value to existing accounts. Work closely with peers in other domains to drive cross-functional growth initiatives.
Account Expansion and Strategic Communication: Systematically explore growth opportunities within each customer account, asset, or business unit. By closely monitoring customer needs, you’ll identify ways AspenTech can expand its footprint. Effectively communicate these opportunities to our Sales, Solution Consulting, and Customer Support & Training teams, keeping everyone aligned and informed about potential new engagements.
Client Support for Complex Challenges: You’ll support clients locally and internationally by providing solutions for complex seismic interpretation issues. By leveraging AspenTech’s state-of-the-art software, you’ll ensure clients receive timely and efficient support, maximizing customer satisfaction through effective use of company resources, project management tools, and project reporting processes.
Building and Maintaining Strategic Relationships: Cultivate influential relationships with key customer stakeholders, establishing yourself as a trusted partner and technical expert. Participate in customer projects and proofs of concept as needed, contributing to project success and customer satisfaction.
Advanced Problem Solving with Technical Teams: Collaborate with customers, internal technical teams, and R&D to solve complex seismic interpretation challenges. You’ll engage in diagnosing and troubleshooting advanced problems and will work with R&D to find effective solutions and document issues as they arise.
Technical Knowledge Transfer and Demonstrations: Deliver engaging knowledge transfer and technical demonstrations to customers, providing hands-on guidance with AspenTech SSE seismic interpretation software. You’ll support the sales team by preparing thorough technical demonstrations that showcase the software’s capabilities and answer customer inquiries.
Seismic Interpretation Tool Proficiency: Use AspenTech’s Seismic Interpretation tools to address customer inquiries and perform initial testing and QC on reported issues. Accurately document these issues and collaborate with R&D to ensure smooth resolution and continuous improvement.
Customer Onboarding and Continuous Training: Develop and maintain best practices for onboarding customers to AspenTech SSE’s seismic interpretation solutions, providing a clear path for clients to maximize the value of their software investment. You’ll also assist in developing training sessions and workshops to support continuous learning across various cross-disciplinary functions.
What You'll Need
Educational Background: M.Tech, M.Sc., or higher qualification in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Geoscience field.
Experience and Technical Skills: 8-12 years in seismic data interpretation, including data loading, QC, seismic calibration, horizon and fault picking, velocity model creation, seismic attribute analysis, spectral decomposition, paleotectonic analysis, seismic facies analysis, seismic inversion, and AVO analysis. Familiarity with AspenTech seismic interpretation tools such as SeisEarth (for structural and dynamic interpretation), QSI (for seismic inversion and AVO analysis), and Explorer (for velocity modeling) is highly desirable.
Sales and Pre-Sales Collaboration: Proven experience in pre-sales support, including close collaboration with sales teams to develop technical specifications, tender documents, and deliver engaging demos. Previous experience working with clients in the Middle East region, specifically in the Seismic Interpretation domain, is advantageous.
Proficiency in Linux and Windows: Working knowledge of both Linux and Windows environments for seamless projects and software support.
Excellent Communication Skills: Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in Customer Engagement: Demonstrated expertise in customer engagement, including preparing technical proof of concepts, summarizing proposals, and making detailed recommendations. This experience should reflect a proactive approach to client relationship building.
Industry Knowledge and Technical Training: Solid understanding of current geoscience software, workflows, and technologies. Previous experience leading or developing training programs, hosting workshops, and engaging in local industry events and tradeshows is preferred.
Knowledge of Data Base Infrastructure and Related Domains: Working knowledge of data infrastructure and systems like Aspen Epos, along with familiarity in geological and geophysical domains. Knowledge of AspenTech seismic processing and imaging tools is beneficial.
