Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Humanities Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in history, geography, social studies, or related fields, and a dedication to inspiring students to explore and understand the complexities of society, culture, and history. As a Humanities Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students develop critical thinking, analytical, and ethical reasoning skills within a culturally relevant and inclusive environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Curriculum Development and Delivery:


    • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the UAE Ministry of Education curriculum standards.
    • Adapt course material to include local UAE history, culture, and social studies topics, promoting cultural awareness and respect.
    • Utilize diverse instructional strategies, including project-based learning, discussions, and interactive technology, to address various learning styles and levels.
  2. Student Assessment and Progress Tracking:


    • Design and administer assessments to evaluate students' comprehension and mastery of humanities concepts.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and exams, guiding students toward improvement and success.
    • Track and document student progress, sharing insights with parents, students, and school administration as needed.
  3. Classroom and Behavior Management:


    • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement, respect, and open dialogue.
    • Uphold school behavior policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for all students.
  4. Professional Development:


    • Stay informed of UAE educational standards, best practices, and current events relevant to the humanities curriculum.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops, training, and seminars, to continually enhance teaching effectiveness.
  5. Collaboration and Community Engagement:


    • Collaborate with colleagues across subjects to promote interdisciplinary learning and holistic development.
    • Engage with parents, guardians, and the school community through regular updates, meetings, and school events, building a supportive network for student success.
    • Attend and contribute to faculty meetings, school functions, and professional communities within the educational field.
  6. Incorporating Technology and Innovation:


    • Use educational technology and multimedia resources to enrich the curriculum and create a dynamic classroom experience.
    • Encourage students to utilize digital resources for research, presentations, and assignments, fostering 21st-century skills.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Education, History, Geography, Social Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Teaching certification or relevant licensure as required by UAE law.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in humanities or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of the UAE educational landscape and curriculum standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive learning environment and inspire students to reach their full potential.

Preferred Skills:


  • Experience teaching in an international or culturally diverse school setting.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning tools.
