JOB PURPOSE
Portfolio Manager for CBG, GPB & finance function under Group Technology Project Management Office (GTPMO) is responsible for end-to-end delivery management of all Strategic initiatives, Programs & Programs under E & I within the allocated budget and responsible for driving optimization, automation & innovation in alignment with the bank’s objective.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Manage all the deliveries within CBG, GPB & finance Portfolio, responsible for all technology & business demands received from UAE & International locations
- Drive innovations, cost optimization initiatives & automation which will contribute towards the objective of “delivering more with less”
- Responsible for portfolio updates in portfolio review meetings, steerco, and providing inputs to GTSC and Exco as applicable
- Develop a strong team of Portfolio Managers and Program Managers who are strong in functional & technical areas, able to work with all technology teams, business teams in UAE & International locations, and also with the Central PMO team
- Develop and drive the strategy to build optimized, result-oriented teams in line with Offshore strategy & also to align with Emiratization objectives
- Guide, coach & work closely with Portfolio Managers & Program Managers on project governance, delivery KPIs, preparation of Steerco & other MIS decks from time to time
- Ability to negotiate and influence TLT/Head of Service & senior management for delivery alignment with the objective of cost elimination, risk mitigation, process optimization, and contributing towards the objective of savings
- Oversee & be accountable for Scope, Time, and Budget management and ensure zero variance
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a portfolio & resolve any challenges of projects to enable the teams to deliver on time
- Review deliverables, weekly status reports, check budgets vs actuals, and change requests prepared by the team & ensure variances are within the organization's KPIs
- Effectively collaborate and communicate with stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and work towards getting CSAT scores (Internal customer satisfaction scores) in line with the organization’s expectations
- Align with CxO levels in International markets, work towards Total Cost of Ownership, and drive the big picture of aligning country IT with the Group’s standards
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE- Master’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology
- Significant experience in Banking
- Technical experience in understanding architecture, middleware systems, and cloud hosting knowledge
- 20+ years of overall IT experience with a minimum of 13 years of experience in the Banking sector/Enterprise applications with global implementation experience
- Good understanding of internationally accepted Project Management Principles, Methodologies (Waterfall, Hybrid or Agile) and Practices (PMI Certification or equivalent is an advantage)
- Candidate should be Techno Functional with the ability to engage with cross-functional teams, problem-solving skills, and good negotiation skills
- Hands-on experience in handling Microsoft Project (MPP knowledge is a must), Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel & Word
- Creates and executes the program work plan along with the team and closely monitors the deliverables
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the portfolio. Resolves any challenges within portfolio teams to enable the teams to deliver on time
- Effectively collaborates and communicates with stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction
- Ensure close monitoring of the project along with providing periodic updates to senior management
- Provide reports on the status of the project under execution, challenges, risks, and mitigation plans
- Familiarity with project performance monitoring principles and metrics
