Position Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced PMC Risk Expert to oversee and manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies for a major Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Abu Dhabi. The Risk Expert will play a crucial role in identifying potential risks, analyzing their impact, and developing proactive solutions to ensure project success. This role demands expertise in risk management methodologies and experience in high-stakes construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework for the project.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize project risks, including technical, financial, and operational risks.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk analysis to determine the likelihood and impact of risks.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Maintain and update the project risk register, ensuring all risks are monitored and managed effectively.
• Provide regular risk reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support decision-making processes by providing data-driven insights on risk scenarios and mitigation options.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and best practices in risk management.
• Facilitate risk management workshops and training sessions for project personnel.
• Work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure risks are addressed throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Review and evaluate contractor and subcontractor risk management plans to ensure alignment with project requirements.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Certifications: Risk management certifications such as PMI-RMP, ISO 31000, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Experience:
  • 10-15 years of experience in risk management, with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline construction projects.
  • Previous experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
