Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced PMC Pipeline Lead Engineer to oversee and manage all pipeline engineering activities for a major Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Abu Dhabi. The Pipeline Lead Engineer will be responsible for ensuring pipeline designs and operations meet international standards, project specifications, and safety requirements. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience in managing pipeline engineering within large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all pipeline engineering activities, ensuring designs and documentation meet project requirements and international standards.
- Prepare, review, and approve pipeline engineering calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of pipeline designs into the overall project.
- Provide technical guidance and solutions to address complex pipeline engineering challenges.
- Oversee and monitor contractor performance during the design and construction phases, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct technical evaluations of materials, equipment, and technologies to ensure suitability for project needs.
- Support the resolution of technical queries (TQ) and manage changes to pipeline designs as required.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify construction activities align with pipeline designs and project specifications.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and regulations in all pipeline engineering activities.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Pipeline Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- 12-15 years of experience in pipeline engineering, with a focus on Oil & Gas or large-scale pipeline construction projects.
- Experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in pipeline design and analysis software (e.g., CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, AutoCAD).
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards related to pipeline design and construction (e.g., ASME, API, BS).
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills for effective team management and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic project environment.
