Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented PMC Electrical Lead Engineer to oversee all electrical engineering activities for a prestigious Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Abu Dhabi. The Electrical Lead Engineer will ensure electrical designs, installations, and operations meet project specifications, international standards, and safety requirements. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and extensive experience in electrical engineering for large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all electrical engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements and international standards.
- Develop, review, and approve electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings for high and low-voltage systems.
- Oversee the selection and procurement of electrical equipment, ensuring alignment with project needs and technical requirements.
- Ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other project components and disciplines.
- Provide technical solutions to address complex electrical design and installation challenges.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with electrical standards, specifications, and timelines.
- Conduct inspections and tests to verify the performance and reliability of electrical systems during construction and commissioning phases.
- Support the preparation and execution of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for electrical systems.
- Address technical queries (TQ) and manage changes related to electrical systems and designs.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards in all electrical engineering activities.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- 12-15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on Oil & Gas or large-scale pipeline construction projects.
- Proven experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in electrical design and analysis software (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical).
- Strong knowledge of international electrical standards and codes (e.g., IEC, NEC, IEEE).
- Expertise in high-voltage and low-voltage systems, power distribution, and electrical equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills for effective team management and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic project environment.
