Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced PMC Contracts Manager to join our Project Management team for a high-profile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Abu Dhabi. The Contracts Manager will oversee all contractual activities, ensuring effective contract administration, risk management, and compliance with project requirements. This role requires exceptional negotiation skills, a strong understanding of contract principles, and experience managing contracts within large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all contractual activities for the project, including preparation, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, legal standards, and company policies.
- Administer contracts effectively, including handling variations, claims, and disputes in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks while optimizing opportunities for project efficiency and cost savings.
- Collaborate with procurement, legal, and project management teams to align contract strategies with overall project objectives.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
- Prepare and manage contract documentation, including progress reports, contractual correspondence, and claims analysis.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to support successful project execution.
- Provide guidance to the project team on contractual matters, ensuring consistency and compliance with best practices.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for team members on contract management processes and principles.
- Manage the change order process, ensuring proper evaluation and approval of contract amendments.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 10-15 years of experience in contract management, with a focus on Oil & Gas or large-scale construction projects.
- Proven track record of managing contracts in a PMC environment.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of international contracting standards and principles (e.g., FIDIC).
- Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient in contract management software and reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
