About the job PLANNING ENGINEER
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Planning Engineer to join our team for building projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring project plans to ensure timely and successful completion of construction projects. The Planning Engineer will collaborate with various teams to ensure that all phases of the project are efficiently coordinated and executed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain project schedules using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Prepare detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) and project timelines to ensure alignment with project goals and milestones.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely input for scheduling.
- Monitor project progress, identifying any potential delays or issues, and proposing corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and update project schedules accordingly.
- Prepare periodic reports on project status, including schedule forecasts and variance analysis.
- Assist in resource planning, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient utilization throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates on scheduling and planning issues to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies in all planning activities.
- Contribute to risk management and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling for building construction projects.
- Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of contract management and cost control is a plus.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is preferred.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and integrated project delivery (IPD) methods.
- Familiarity with scheduling techniques, such as critical path method (CPM) and earned value management (EVM).
